Every dollar raised through Coaches vs. Cancer of Philadelphia helps the American Cancer Society further its mission of saving lives and creating a world with more birthdays. In 2011, $1 million was raised through Coaches vs. Cancer in the Southeast Region.

We’re Helping People Get Well
Whether it is through a ride to treatment, emotional support, or help navigating everyday concerns, the American Cancer Society helps people get well through life-saving programs and services at no cost. With your support, cancer patients and their caregivers can find a home away from home during treatment at the Astra-Zeneca Hope Lodge in Philadelphia, which provided over 7,000 free nights and saved families over $1 million in lodging expenses last year. Your donation also supports a pediatric cancer patient navigator position that puts staff and resources at the hospital level to help guide children battling cancer – and their families – through their journey from diagnosis to recovery.
We’re Finding Cures
The American Cancer Society is at the forefront of groundbreaking cancer research, with more than $54 million American Cancer Society research grants in effect in the East Central Division. If you are between the ages of 30 and65, you can help the Society find a cure by participating in the Society’s Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3) enrollment taking place at select events and locations across the Southeast Region.
