PENNSBURY BOYS’ LACROSSE PREVIEW

Coach:  Jamie Huber (4th year as head coach, sixth year in program)

Last Year's Record/Accomplishments: Overall record 17-3, SOL National Conference 10-0, Playoffs 1-1.  Went undefeated in the SOL National Conference winning the schools first ever-outright SOL Conference Championship.  Earned the schools highest ever playoff seeding in the PIAA District 1 playoffs with the number 6 overall seed, before loosing in OT in the second round to eventual District One runner up Garnet Valley.

Key returnees:
Goalie- Phil Jutkiewicz (senior) 3rd year as a Varsity member, 1st year as full time starter
Defense- Greg Kolowajtis (junior), Jack Benziger (junior) honorable mention All-SOL National ’12, Ben Schnitzler (senior), Matt Anderson (sophomore) 1st team All-SOL National ‘12
Attack- no returning starters
Midfield- Colin Sullivan (senior) 2nd team All SOL National ’12, Lyle Arvanites (junior), John Conte (junior)

Key newcomers:
Attack- Christian DeVaul (senior), Grant Montgomery (junior), Nick Dugan (junior), Chase Mako (junior)
Midfield- Jared Petty (sophomore), Zach Abraham (freshman)

Outlook for 2013:  “Having lost all but one starter from last years senior laden team, Pennsbury looks to its youth to help guide them through a very tough 2013 season that includes several nonleague games against preseason favorites like Radnor, CB East, and Penncrest along with an always tough SOL National Conference slate.

“Losing all of that talent on both sides of the ball from last season has been a difficult adjustment, but we really believe the team is buying into the system and that we have enough veteran leadership to help get the most out of our younger and less experienced players.”
