The CB South girls lacrosse team donated their time to the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center.
The Central Bucks South girls lacrosse team recently donated their time to the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center and planted 803 pinwheels in front of the Hartsville Fire Department. They were joined by Leslie Slingsby, Director of the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center, Assistant District Attorney Matt Weintraub, Nancy Morgan from the Bucks County Office of Children and Youth, Kareem Afzal from the Zubaida Foundation and Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick.
The Pinwheel Garden will be in place throughout the month of April, which is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The pinwheel is the symbol for the bright future every child deserves. Three gardens will be planted around Bucks County in April 2013. Each garden will contain 803 pinwheels, which represent the number of brave adults who stood up and reported child abuse in Bucks County in 2012. The Children’s Advocacy Center hopes the sight of more than 800 bright spinning wheels will motivate people to become active participants in preventing child abuse.
