Katie Boyk made three of her four free throw attempts in overtime to
give the Upper Merion Lady Vikings a 54-52 victory over league rival Upper Dublin. The free throws all came in the final minute, with the home team
trailing by one. Upper Merion was also without two starters in the extra frame as
senior guard Lisa Ridgeway and junior forward Alex Galdi had fouled out.
Ridgeway finished with 17 points while freshman Cassidy Koenig had 16 points coming off the bench, including four 3-pointers. Upper Merion is now 11-3 overall and 5-2 in the American conference with a firm grasp on second place.
The Lady Vikings host crosstown rival PW friday night at 7 p.m. Tonight's
game will be televised in the Upper Merion Area on The Viking Channel (Comcast
channel 28, Verizon channel 32), Wednesday night at 8 p.m.
