IUP senior second baseman Robbie Zinsmeister (North Penn) was named to the All-PSAC first team. The North Penn graduate will go down as one of the most accomplished hitters in school history, finishing in the top three in 10 career offensive categories. He’s first with 200 games played and 693 at-bats; second with 187 runs scored, 231 hits, 47 doubles, 371 total bases, 87 walks and 75 steals; and third with 124 RBIs and 21 triples. He also finished fourth with 17 career home runs, seventh with a .535 slugging percentage and 16th with a .333 batting average. He’s a two-time first team All-PSAC selection after being named as a shortstop last year. This year Zinsmeister led the team with 49 runs scored, 14 doubles and seven triples and tied for the team lead with five home runs. He also led the Crimson Hawks with a .435 on-base percentage from his leadoff spot, batting .342 with a .576 slugging percentage and 20 stolen bases in 22 attempts.
IUP sophomore Dylan Tice (Pennridge) was named to the All-PSAC first team. It is his first postseason honor after moving from second base to become IUP’s starting shortstop. He led the team with 67 hits, five home runs and 42 RBIs while finishing second with a .362 batting average and 13 doubles.
Sophomore second baseman Billy Fleming (Council Rock South) had two hits in West Virginia’s 7-4 loss to TCU on Saturday.
Kutztown senior catcher Matt Albaugh (North Penn) was named to the 2013 All-PSAC Eastern Division first team. This is the third All-PSAC – and second first team - selection for the North Penn grad, who is batting .328. Albaugh has 38 hits and is second on the team with 27 RBIs. He has one home run, eight doubles and has been hit by a team high 14 pitches. Behind the plate, Albaugh has held opponents to 13-for-18 (58.1) on the base paths and has only had three passed balls and no errors.
In Kutztown’s 12-7 loss to California in an elimination game of the PSAC Championships on Friday, Albaugh was 2-for-5 with two RBIs. In Thursday’s 3-0 loss to West Chester, Albaugh had two of his team’s six hits. Brandon Martinez (North Penn) also had a hit. In Wednesday’s 6-1 opening round win over Mercyhurst, Martinez had three hits from the leadoff spot. Albaugh also had a pair of hits.
Rookie Jesse Kohler (Upper Dublin) came out of the bullpen in the eighth inning of Oberlin’s 6-5 loss to Allegheny College in the semifinals of the NCAC Championship Tournament on Friday, getting a key double play to give his team a chance.
Eric Ruth (North Penn) recorded his ninth save of the season in Winthrop’s 4-1 win over VMI on Saturday. The senior closer worked out of a bases loaded jam by striking out a pair.
Freshman Bobby Reddick (North Penn) recorded his third save of the season by pitching a scoreless ninth in Northampton’s 13-12 win over Cumberland last Sunday.
Arcardia University’s Jason Goldberg (Central Bucks East) was named MAC Player of the Week for the week ending April 8 after leading the squad to a 4-2 week. Goldberg pitched six key innings in Arcadia’s win over Albright, allowing no runs on three hits to earn the victory. He pitched two scoreless innings in the team’s win over Messiah earlier in the week.
Goldberg earned a complete game win in Arcadia’s 6-3 win over Stevenson University in the first game of the 2013 MAC Commonwealth Baseball Championships last Thursday, allowing three runs on 12 hits with seven strikeouts.
Craig Lepre (North Penn) was 1-for-3 in Albany’s 5-3 loss to Stony Brook on Saturday. In Sunday’s 8-7 loss to Stony Brook, Lepre was 1-for-3 with a run scored and RBI. Albany won one of three games against Stony Brook.
Sophomore Matt Hollenbeck (Hatboro-Horsham) started the second game of a three-game series against Rutgers on Saturday. After the first inning, he retired nine of 10 batters and threw 5.2 strong innings in Georgetown’s 17-3 loss, allowing two runs on four hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
York College senior outfielder Drew Frankenfield (Wissahickon) was named to the 2013 Capital Athletic Conference second team. He closed out his collegiate career as one of the hottest players on the team over the second half of the season. With one game remaining, Frankenfield was hitting .317 with a team-high 29 RBIs, 26 runs scored, 13 doubles, a triple and a home run. He has posted a .420 on-base percentage and a .446 slugging percentage. Frankenfield is a career .327 hitter in his first two years in the Green and White. He accumulated 93 hits, 57 runs scored, 51 RBIs, 23 doubles, two triples and a pair of home runs. Frankenfield has played in and started 82 games in his Spartan career. He is ranked eighth in the CAC in RBI, tied for sixth in doubles, 14th in runs scored and 20th in batting average.
Frankenfield hit a grand slam in the fifth inning of York College's 14-3 win over Franklin & Marshall on Sunday. He made his final collegiate game a memorable one, finishing the day 3-for-6 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
Mike Bradstreet (North Penn) tossed 5.2 innings in his first no-decision of the season in Rhode Island’s 5-4 loss to Butler. The North Penn grad allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits while striking out five.
James Smith (North Penn) contributed an RBI in St. Peter’s 16-4 loss to Siena on Saturday.
Freshman first baseman Patrick Campion (Norristown) knocked in four runs with his two-run single in the sixth and two-run double in the eighth in Chestnut Hill College’s 10-1 win over Dominican College on Friday in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament. Senior shortstop Joe Crane (Council Rock South) had a pair of hits, scored one run and drove in one run. Joe Mullin (Central Bucks South) had a hit and RBI while junior third baseman Raymond Puskar (Pennridge) had an RBI and run scored. The Griffins saw their season end when they fell to top-seeded Wilmington University 15-0 on Saturday. Puskar was named to the all-tournament team. In Friday’s 13-6 win over Felician College, Puskar was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and four RBIs. Crane was 1-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. In Tuesday’s opening round 8-6 win over Concordia, Crane was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. Mullin was 2-for-3 with a double, one run and three RBIs. Puskar had a pair of hits, including a triple, with two runs scored, and Campion also had a pair of hits.
Moravaian sophomore outfielder Matt Hanson (Central Bucks West) earned a spot on the 2013 Landmark All-Conference first team. Hanson is leading the Greyhounds this season with a .364 batting average, and he also has team highs of 15 stolen bases, five triples, nine hit by pitch and a .530 slugging percentage. Hanson has collected 48 hits this season to go with 33 runs, 12 doubles, 14 walks and 19 RBIs in 37 games. While playing in right field, Hanson has 74 putouts and two assists in 77 chances in the field. In the ninth NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2013 season, Hanson is tied for 29th with five triples and tied for 44th in triples per game at 0.14.
David Pine (Council Rock North) had a pair of hits in Millersville’s 14-8 loss to West Chester in a PSAC Tournament game on Friday. The Marauders’ conference tournament run ended one win short of the championship game.
MEN’S LACROSE
Aurora University junior attackman Garret Rosiek (Wissahickon) earned first team all-conference honors. The Wissahickon grad has 102 points with 64 assists and 34 goals (four are man-up goals) to go along with 63 ground balls.
Rosiek had three assists in Aurora’s 13-9 win at Ohio Wesleyan in an NCAA Division III opening round game on Wednesday. It is Aurora’s first trip to the tournament in program history and the first men’s lacrosse win by an NCAA program in the state of Illinois.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Haverford senior Grace Stockbower (Upper Dublin) was named to the 2013 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Metro Region second team. It is her first all-region recognition. Stockbower topped the squad in caused turnovers for the second straight season. The senior defender, a second team-all conference honoree in 2013, reached double figures in goals (10) for the first time and tallied her first game-winning goal against McDaniel College. Stockbower’s 34 caused turnovers on the year ranked second in the Centennial Conference.
Gettysburg senior Alex Casey (Abington) was named to the 2013 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Metro Region second team. The senior defender turned in another strong campaign with 31 ground balls, 12 draw controls and 20 caused turnovers. She ranks third on the team in ground balls and second in caused turnovers. For her career, Casey has totaled 100 ground balls and 62 caused turnovers. It is the second consecutive season she has earned all-region honors.
Casey had three ground balls and two caused turnovers in fifth-ranked Gettysburg’s 17-5 win over Rowan in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Wednesday. 
Gettysburg’s season came to an end in Saturday’s second round when the Bullets were upset by No. 14 RPI 9-8.
Lock Haven junior Kelly Hamilton (Central Bucks South) earned second team All-PSAC honors. The CB South graduate has been a key factor on offense for Lock Haven, contributing 46 goals and a team-best five game-winning scores this year. She also has 36 draw controls, 25 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.
Lock Haven sophomore Melinda Wojt (Souderton) earned third team All-PSAC honors. The Souderton grad is a key member of the Eagles’ defense, logging nearly every minute this season. She has 20 caused turnovers and 27 ground balls.
No. 6 Lock Haven saw its season end when the Lady Eagles fell to No. 3 Rollins 11-10 in an NCAA quarterfinal game at Barker Family Stadium in Winter Park, Fla., on Saturday. Wojt and teammate Lindsay Walbrandt (Souderton) were key in stifling the Tars’ explosive offensive attack.
Ursinus College senior defender Elizabeth Chatburn (Upper Dublin) was named to the second team All-Centennial Women’s Lacrosse squad. Chatburn played and started in all 16 games this season, scoring six goals and handing out three assists for nine points. She had 34 ground balls, which led the squad. She also led the team with 24 caused turnovers.
Bloomsburg University junior defender Aubrey Bossert (Wissahickon) was named to the 2013 All-PSAC first team. The Wissahickon grad finished the year with 18 caused turnovers, including four against Dowling. She also had 46 draw controls, putting her second on the team, and she had a season-best performance against Limestone College where she had a season-high six draw controls. Bossert also had 35 ground balls. At the PSAC championship, she was named the scholar athlete of the tournament for the second year in a row with a GPA of 3.95.
Bloomsburg sophomore midfielder Carly Ball (North Penn) earned third team All-PSAC honors. The North Penn graduate led the team in caused turnovers with 22, tying her for sixth best in the PSAC. She was second on the team with ground balls at 34 and had 11 draw controls for the Huskies.
SOFTBALL
Lehigh freshman Morgan Decker (Central Bucks South) was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year. The CB South grad burst onto the scene as one of the league’s top offensive players in her rookie campaign. She entered the Patriot League Tournament leading the league in all three triple crown categories with a .417 batting average, eight home runs and 44 runs batted in. Decker also led the league in walks, total bases, slugging percentage and on-base percentage. A three-time Patriot League Player of the Week and two-time Rookie of the Week, Decker hit .456 in Patriot League games and was an impressive .475 with five home runs and 24 RBIs in 23 games in April. Lehigh’s third baseman is the first player in league history to be named Player and Rookie of the Year in the same season in softball.
Decker hit her ninth home run of the year in Lehigh’s 8-0 win over second-seeded Army in game three of the Patriot League Tournament on Friday. Army came back to defeat regular season champion Lehigh twice on Saturday to capture the tournament championship. Decker was named to the all-tournament team. Lehigh closed its season with a 37-16-1 record.
Holy Family senior Lindsey Iden (Council Rock North) was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball All-Tournament team. In two games, Iden collected two extra base hits to lead the Tigers. She hit a two-run double against Wilmington University and then provided the Tigers with a three-run home run versus Bloomfield College. Iden finished the tournament going 2-for-5 to go along with one run and five RBI. Iden finished the season with a .263 batting average. She totaled 50 runs, 26 doubles, three triples, six home runs and 58 RBIs during the course of her career. In the field, Iden owns a .931 fielding percentage. Her 26 doubles are eighth most in program history. Holy Family finished the year with a 24-24 overall record and a 17-9 mark in the CACC. The 24 victories are the most since the 2010 season.
Robert Morris freshman Haileigh Stocks (Central Bucks South) was named All-NEC first team as a utility player. Stocks was one of the team’s top power threats and also contributed in the circle for RMU in her rookie season. Stocks hit .293 overall in the regular season and led the team in RBIs (23), slugging percentage (.543) and extra-base hits (16). She drilled nine doubles, leading the team, and also hit six homers, including a grand slam in her first collegiate at-bat. Stocks also was one of the top Colonials offensively in league play as she hit .328 with a .563 slugging mark, courtesy of nine extra-base hits, a figure that topped the team. In addition to seeing time at her primary position, second base, Stocks held her own in the circle as well. She boasted a 2.86 ERA in just over 40 innings of work. One of her pitching highlights came on April 3 when she defeated BIG EAST foe and local rival Pittsburgh by allowing one run in a victory, striking out five without allowing a walk. Stocks became the third Colonial in history to take home All-NEC first team honors as a utility player. She is just the sixth Robert Morris softball player in school history to earn All-NEC first team honors as a freshman.
Stocks was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI in Robert Morris University’s 5-2 loss to Monmouth in a Northeast Conference Tournament elimination game on Friday. Her double moved her into a tie for eighth in single-season doubles at Robert Morris.
USF junior D’Anna Devine (Pennsbury) was named to the All-BIG EAST Tournament team after No. 24 USF captured its first ever tourney title with a 1-0 win over top-seeded Notre Dame on Saturday. Devine had one of her team’s five hits in the win. In USF’s 3-0 win over Providence on Thursday, Devine had a double.
Lock Haven junior Chelsea Edwards (Hatboro-Horsham) earned an at-large spot on the 2013 All-PSAC Central all-conference team. The Hatboro-Horsham graduate has given LHU a strong presence at first base. She’s hitting .278 with 19 RBIs and five home runs.
West Chester senior pitcher Devon Utterback (Central Bucks South) earned a spot on the 2013 All-PSAC East squad. Utterback became just the second hurler in West Chester softball history to win 20 games in a single season. She authored a 20-9 record on the year with a 1.95 ERA in 37 appearances. She completed 21 games and recorded eight shutouts while earning one save. She has 141 strikeouts on the year, which is the school’s single season record. Opponents are hitting just .225 against her.
West Chester junior Megan Kelly (Hatboro-Horsham) earned an at-large spot on the 2013 All-PSAC East team.
Kelly ranks second on the Golden Rams in hitting with a .356 batting average. She has 48 hits and has scored 39 runs this season. Her 34 stolen bases is a new school single season record and leads the PSAC. She has six doubles, one triple and one home run this spring.
Kelly hit a grand slam and Utterback pitched a two-hitter as West Chester defeated No. 8 California (Pa.) 6-3 in the regional final of its bracket Sunday afternoon to advance to the NCAA Division II Super Regionals next weekend. It is the first time in school history West Chester has reached the Super Regionals. Kelly’s grand slam, her second home run of the season, came in the top of the fifth with West Chester trailing 3-0. Erin Quense (Neshaminy) singled through the left side, and then Laura Altenburger (Neshaminy) drew a walk on five pitches. Ali Vavala (Central Bucks East) laid down a sacrifice bunt that Cal’s first baseman threw away, allowing Vavala to reach safely and load the bases. That is when Kelly worked the count full, fouled off another pitch before hitting a home run over the left field fence to give West Chester a 4-3 lead. From there, it was all Utterback, who limited Cal to just two hits while walking three and striking out eight. A three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth was the only mistake she made all afternoon. In Saturday’s 4-3 win over eighth-ranked California, Quense hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second to give West Chester a 3-2 lead. With a runner on second and none out in the seventh, Utterback entered the game and earned her second save of the season. Earlier in the day, West Chester downed Lock Haven 10-1 in the completion of a game that was started on Friday. Kelly was 2-for-3 with a two-run double, and Quense was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs. Utterback (21-9) went the distance in the circle, allowing one run on six hits. She struck out seven and did not walk a batter.
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Sophomore Matt Bee (Central Bucks West) was part of Shippensburg’s 4x800 meter relay that finished second at the 2013 PSAC Outdoor Championships, posting a time of 7:44.61. Dan Dreeman (Council Rock South) finished fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.23.
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Shippensburg senior Caitlin Stuetz (Cheltenham) convincingly defended her conference titles in the 100 and 400-meter hurdles at the 2013 PSAC Championships. She also ran the second leg of the victorious 4x400 meter relay squad, resulting in her receiving the PSAC Track and Overall MVP awards. In four years of PSAC track competition, Stuetz successfully placed all eight times in outdoor hurdles competition – winning three 100-meter and two 400-meter titles in the process. On Saturday, she completed the 100-meter hurdles in 14.08 seconds to match her school record that she had shared (Stuetz ran 14.07 in the prelims on Friday to claim the record for herself) before running the 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.81 – a season PR of more than one second that moves her to 13th in the national rankings. “There are some special people that just get it done and are the model of consistency,” coach Dave Osantisch said. “Caitlin is one. You know she’s going to line up and do very well. She has proven that she is the greatest hurdler in Shippensburg University history.” The 4x400 relay posted a season PR time of 3:51.31. Teammate Monique Clemons (Wissahickon) was also part of the 4x400 relay as well as the first place 4x100 relay that posted a time of 47.10. Clemons finished fifth in the 200 meter dash and eighth in the 400. Shippensburg captured its fourth consecutive PSAC outdoor title, completing the triple crown after also winning conference titles in cross country and indoor track and field as well.
Gwynedd-Mercy freshman Zakiyyah Richardson (Pennsbury) turned in a stellar showing at the Mason-Dixon Championships last weekend. She was second overall in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.29 seconds. An hour later, she was back on the track in the 200-meter dash where she cruised to victory in a program record-setting time of 25.09 seconds. The performance ranks Richardson 22nd in the country in the event. She also was part of the 4x100 meter relay that finished second in a season-best time of 49.38, and she was part of Gwynedd’s first place 4x400 meter relay team. Gwynedd was in second place with 30 meters to go, but Richardson had enough left in the tank to break the tape first, turning in a split of 57 seconds.
Gwynedd-Mercy sophomore AnaLee Rodriguez (Pennsbury) was ranked second heading into the shot put competition at the Mason Dixon Championships last weekend but outside the top eight in both the discus and javelin. Rodriguez took second in the shot put (9.92 meters), second in the javelin (29.75 meters) and sixth in the discus (28.64). She became the first thrower in GMC history to earn all-conference honors in three events at the Mason Dixon Championships. Richardson and Rodriguez combined to score 35 points in their individual events.
