Everything went right for the Golfing Cardinals on Tuesday as they shot their way into the record books. Cole Swiger whipped out his trusty 7 iron on the 175-yard sixth hole, hits the shot over the pin onto the hill, and the ball rolled down the hill into the hole for an ace. Michael Reed-Price had a tough round yesterday but bounced back with a strong 33 with birdies on one, two and six. Swiger aced six, and Matt Amey came in with a smooth 39 with birdies on holes two and nine. Debbie Park shot another low round with a 38. "This team is so solid," coach David Koch said. "In other years, I would have been jumping for joy with Dunnam, Kelly and Melville all shooting a 41. Those 41s are truly terrific and would be the low round on most teams we have played."

The Golfing Ghosts managed to put up some stellar numbers on the tough links of Jericho National but fell short to strong CR North scores. Matt Shur shot a 39 while maintaining consistency of six pars and three bogeys. Shur hit five GIR’s, five fairways and had 17 putts. When asked about his round, Shur stated that he wanted to focus on the basics of staying out of trouble on the course. Conor Breslin had a personal best of +3 for the round, hitting three fairways, 4 GIR’s and draining 16 putts for the nine. Sophomore Andy Ring shocked the team with his 37, earning his best round of the season. Ring earned three birdies on the round but was disappointed in his four bogeys. Ring hit seven GIR’s, had 17 putts but only hit one fairway. This young team of Golfing Ghosts is slowly learning the importance of consistency and making every shot count.
