The Wissahickon boys varisty and JV boys both defeated Pennridge in a conference game held at the Rams pool in Perkasie. The varisty boys won by a score of 17 to 9 and the JV boys won an exciting game by a score of 8-7.
In the varisty game, the Trojans came out fast and never looked back. Wissahickon was winning at the half by a score of 8 to 4 and kept up the pressure the whole game. Offensively, Wissahickon was lead by Luke Waechter and Jake Berring who each had 6 goals on 10 shots. Alex Bolen's shooting arm came alive in the fourth quarter scoring 3 goals in quick succession. Danny Knoll scored twice to seal the win for Wissaickon. Defensively, Luke Waechter and Jake Berring lead the team with 6 steals each. Alex Bolen had four steals and Robby Wilson added 3. Mac Hennessey played a solid game with some aggressive take aways and 14 saves.
The Jv game also showed the Trojans depth this year. Noah Katz lead the scoring with 3 goals on 6 shots. Jeff Beyer scored twice on 5 shots and had an assist. Alex Zavitsanos scored a goal and had an assist. Jake Valentine scored on an excellent shot from way outside totally surprising the Pennridge goalie. Nick Pak had five shots and played aggressive offense. On defense, the Trojans played quickly and aggressively. Jeff Beyer and Alex Zavitsnaos had four assists each. Brad Greer and Jake Valentine had two steals each while Nick Pak, Christian Rudolf, and Evan Shapiro each snagged the ball once. Ben Tate had a solid game in goal with 15 saves and scored on an awesome shot fired from the deep end goal. The ball sailed over the outstretched arms of the Pennridge goalie who had moved too far in front of the net and it dropped right into the net. SWEET !!
