Sterling Limo Players of the Week (Wk 5)

Sterling Limousine and Transportation Services of Wrightstown is proud to recognize the Players of the Week for each conference. Players are chosen based on the nomination of coaches.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE

Sterling Limousine National Conference Offensive Player of the Week – Breon Clark, Pennsbury
The junior quarterback accounted for the first three touchdowns of the game in the Falcons’ 42-6 win over Council Rock South, scoring on a 10-yard touchdown run and also completing touchdown passes of 48 and 17 yards to spot the Falcons a quick 21-0 lead.
Coach Galen Snyder says:  “He’s done a real nice job handling the ball and showing leadership this year. We really expect big things out of him the second half of the year. We don’t throw the ball obviously as much as some other people. However, he’s as big of a threat as any quarterback in the league.”

Sterling Limousine National Conference Defensive Player of the Week – Luke Carrezola
Dominating defensive performances have become the norm for the Redskins this season, and the senior defensive lineman helped propel the ‘Skins to another gem in last Friday’s 35-7 win over Harry S Truman. Carrezola had six solo tackles, which included four tackles for a loss. He also had two sacks as the Redskins allowed the Tigers to accumulate just 121 yards of total offense.
Coach Mark Schmidt says:  “Luke played a solid game against Truman in terms of assignment football defending the option. He was also able to apply pressure in the second half when they tried to spread the ball around. We will look to Luke for more production Friday night as we try to contain a very explosive CR North spread offense.”

Sterling Limousine National Conference Special Teams Player of the Week – Hamiid Pack
The Redskins’ junior wide receiver took the opening kickoff of the second half 75 yards for a touchdown to put Neshaminy on top 28-0 on its way to a 35-7 win over Harry S Truman.
Coach Mark Schmidt says:  “Ham has been maturing and improving every week. Friday night’s kickoff return was a huge momentum swing to start the second half. We spent extra time last week improving our special teams. It was nice to see it produce positive results.”

CONTINENTAL CONFERENCE

Sterling Limousine Continental Conference Offensive Player of the Week – Josh Adams, Central Bucks South
The Titans’ junior running back rushed for 213 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries in CB South’s come-from-behind 45-26 win over Souderton. His touchdown runs of 48 and 57 yards in the second half turned a 20-17 deficit into a 45-26 win. Adams had 167 yards in the second half.
Coach Dave Rackovan says:  "Josh was the catalyst that broke open a very tight game in the second half. He had some great runs that resulted from a vastly improved offensive line."

Sterling Limousine Continental Conference Two-Way Player of the Week – Alex Gibson, Central Bucks East
The sophomore running back returned to the lineup with a vengeance after being sidelined for two-and-a-half games. Gibson rushed for 219 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries in CB East’s 37-19 win over Hatboro-Horsham. He also picked off a pass and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown, finishing the game with four touchdowns. He also had a kickoff return of 30 yards.
Coach John Donnelly says:  “Alex is a dynamic player. We missed his explosiveness in our previous two games. He had runs of 45, 62 and 50 yards and even had a touchdown run of 55 called back. He contributed at a high level on defense and on special teams.”

Sterling Limousine Continental Conference Defensive Co-Player of the Week – Grant Udinski
The senior defensive end had 15 tackles in West’s 22-21 upset of Pennridge. In addition, he also had two ‘hurries’ on the quarterback and contributed on special teams as well.
Coach Brian Hensel says: “Grant has worked very hard to be a guy that’s in the system, and he is a contributor in all phases of the game – offensively, defensively and special teams. The preceding week he didn’t play to the expectation that we knew he could, and we challenged him this week. To the kid’s credit, he stepped up and not only did exactly what we wanted him to do but had a monster game in the process and really became a rock in a defense that needed to stop a very powerful Pennridge team.”

Sterling Limousine Continental Conference Defensive Co-Players of the Week – Mark Remmey & Connor Pattyson, Central Bucks East
Remmey, a senior co-captain and defensive lineman, had 12 tackles, which included five for a loss, and two sacks. Pattyson, a junior outside linebacker, had 14 tackles in the Hatters’ 37-19 win over Hatboro-Horsham.
Coach John Donnelly says:  “Mark had a monster game. He has proven to be a dominating player in many of our games this year. Tackles have issues trying to block him on the edge. He also starts at offensive tackle and doesn’t come off the field for us. He’s a great competitor and leader.
“Connor is our leading tackler after five games, and this is his first year as a starter. He worked hard in the offseason to get bigger, faster, and stronger. He is a very instinctive player and will become even more productive as he gains more experience. He had 14 tackles on Friday, and that doesn’t happen by accident.”

AMERICAN CONFERENCE

Sterling Limousine American Conference Offensive Co-Player of the Week – Tyler Whitmore, Upper Moreland
The junior running back had another huge game in the Golden Bears 55-34 win over Upper Merion, accumulating 263 yards and scoring four touchdowns.
Coach Adam Beach said:  “He’s still learning how to be a running back. He’s been a receiver most of his life, but he’s getting better every week. Every time we give him the ball he’s got that speed where if he breaks a couple of hits he could go, and that makes our offense go and makes our whole team a lot better. People have to pay attention to Tyler, and that opens up stuff for other people. He’s a special kid. He wants to get better, and we’re going to keep giving him the ball and see where it takes us.”

Sterling Limousine American Conference Offensive Co-Player of the Week – Josh Smith, Wissahickon
The junior running back stepped in at quarterback in Wissahickon’s 14-0 win over Springfield last week, rushing 23 times for 179 yards and a touchdown. He also was 2-for-4 for 50 yards and also started at defensive back.
Coach Jeff Cappa says:  “Josh is a great kid. He’s a hard worker and outstanding athlete. He started last year as a sophomore.”

Sterling Limousine American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week – Neal Guaglianone, Wissahickon
The Trojans’ senior kicker had his own field goal blocked but picked it up and ran for a touchdown. Two of his three kickoffs were for touchbacks.
Coach Jeff Cappa says:  “Neal is a soccer player, but he really could be a fulltime football player. He’s tough, makes tackles and is one of the top athletes in the school. Neal has about five touchback kickoffs this year.”
