Last year’s record:  2-12 SOL, 8-14 overall
SENIOR players:
- David Stecz – 6’1” Senior PG/SG.  Averaged 9 ppg last season and was on of the top three-point shooters in the area last year.  David is one of the hardest workers in the league and dedicated the majority of the offseason preparing for his senior year.  He is the leader on this team and is a great role model for the younger guys.  David will attract some college scouts and plans on playing in college.

- Jovan Nicholson – 6’2” Senior SF.  Looking to be a big contributor in the scoring column this year and is also a leader on this team.

- Samik Patel – 6’4” Senior PF.  Samik is a brilliant student who hopes to attend Stanford.   He is a flashy player with some potential to create some mismatches due to his ability to score from anywhere on the court.

- Danny Kubler – 6’6” C.  Danny is looking to have a breakout year.  He has the potential to make some serious impact in some games.  With his ability to rebound and score, he looks to be a valuable role player that will help lead this team to some important victories.

- Ryan Brennan – 6’0” Senior SG.  Ryan is a great shooter.  He has a deadly shot that makes defenders play honest.

- Joshua Grant – 5’10” Senior SG.  This is Josh’s first year in the district.  He instantly brings some serious intensity.  He will have a major impact on the defensive side of the ball by creating turnovers and shutting down key matchups.

- CJ Reinert – 6’1” Senior SF.  CJ is an extremely hard worker and has the ability to be a slasher this year.  He has a knack in getting to the basket and finishing.

Rest of roster:
-
Brandon Rhodes – 6'3" Junior G/F.  Brandon looks to supply some valuable minutes this year as a gritty player who has the potential to score.

-Ethan Miller – 6'5" Freshman F/C.  Ethan is a dangerous player who can score anywhere on the floor.  As a freshman, Ethan will be a valuable contributor through multiple aspects of the game, especially points, blocks and rebounds.

-Matthew Faw – 6'5" Freshman F/C.  Matthew is dangerously athletic and the game comes easy to him.  He has a nice shot and can also score from anywhere on the court.

-Aidan Newell – 5'10" Freshman PG.  Aidan is undersized but his court sense his incredible.  He has the knack of helping his team score and is quick on the defensive side of the ball.

Outlook:  “The team had (eight) wins last year, and the boys did a nice job of fighting every night. The league is one of the best in the state, so competitive, talented and well coached.  The road ahead is not going to be easy, but we feel like we can surprise some teams this year led by a slew of seniors (7).  Coach Bowe did a nice job starting to put the pieces in place to begin to help the team make a turn-around.  The new staff and I are working hard on building a team philosophy that will make UM relevant again.  Our team slogan is ‘We play for the 3900.’ This number includes all of the students in the district.  We want to represent this district well, and we don’t play for ourselves, we play for everyone.  I am a middle school science teacher in the district and have had the privilege to know the majority of the boys, having coached them in the past or being their teacher, and they are a great group of kids.  We intend on having a lot of fun and success this year.”
