Marie Brockman – Gannon University (Lacrosse)
Major:
Pre-Physical Therapy/Biology
Final list of colleges:  Gannon, Lebanon Valley
Reasons for choosing Gannon:  “I just really liked the campus and the coach. It was in a city, so there was a lot to do. The coach was really nice, and I got to practice with the team too, and that was a really good experience.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate lacrosse?  “I have been playing lacrosse since I was in third grade, so I always wanted to play. I played with Ultimate Club Lacrosse in the summer and did summer tournaments, so that gave me a lot of exposure to coaches.”
Coach Ken Rodoff says:  “Marie was a low defender. She played some D-wing but mostly low defense. When she first started as a freshman, it was an area we had a need, and she brought a high level of skill, a lot of intelligence – she was able to think quickly and make good decisions. She knew how to move off the ball even as a freshman and had very strong cradling skills coming up as a ninth grader, which I knew would help us in our transition. She only continued to improve every year.”

Juli Cardamone – University of Connecticut (Lacrosse)
Major:
Human Development & Family Relations
Final list of colleges:  UConn, Villanova, Louisville, Cincinnati
Reasons for choosing UConn:  “UConn was really my main choice. Once I was there I knew I wanted to go there. I heard from the owner of my club that the coach had a huge interest in me. Once I got there – she’s a great coach, and I loved the campus. I loved it as soon as I got there, and the atmosphere of the team was really awesome.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate lacrosse?  “I verbally committed last September, so the summer before my junior year I had to make the decision where I wanted to go, but I kind of knew all throughout high school that I wanted to play lacrosse in college.”
Coach Ken Rodoff says:  “Juli’s an impact player. I knew that even when she was in middle school. I equate her a lot to some previous All-Americans I coached in Chrissy Kane and Becca Edwards. She’s a player that for the last two years demanded the most attention from our opponents. She’s the player I know other teams have to scout and game plan for. She has amazing footwork, she’s able to control her body, she has phenomenal stick skills, she creates space for herself up and down the field, she’s an aggressive defender, and she’s never afraid to make the long midfield run to get back on defense or help out on offense. I relied on her to play anywhere and everywhere. I think she was even willing to play goalie if needed. I think her skill set is only going to improve with coaching and the work she’s going to put in up there. I think she has the potential to be a top tier D-1 player.”

Riley Greenleaf –IUP (Lacrosse)
Major:
Undecided
Final list of colleges:  IUP, West Chester, Gannon, Shippensburg
Reasons for choosing IUP:  “When I went there to visit, I really loved the campus, I loved all the girls, and the coach really drew me in. They have a great program, and I really think it should make me a better player.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate lacrosse?  “I only started playing lacrosse in seventh grade, so I started really late. I had a concussion my freshman year, so I was out that year. My sophomore and junior years I had to step it up. I tried my hardest, and that’s what I worked for. I love the sport.”
Coach Ken Rodoff says:  “Riley is just super fast, no quit, all motor all the time. She came up right away and was an impact player for us in the midfield and on the attack end. She had a go-to-goal mentality. Even as an underclassman, she was confident in her ability to make the right decision with the ball. She was very good at off-ball cuts in our attacking end. She constantly improved in her ability to feed and set other players up to have success on the field. Last year was a standout year for her. She had an amazing boost of confidence when she was selected for the National Tournament. She really began to stand out as one of the premiere players in Suburban One.”
