Continental Conference
NORTH PENN 56, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 55
The Titans appeared poised to steal the big win when Bryce Dobisch hit nothing but net on a three-pointer with six seconds remaining, turning a two-point deficit into a one-point lead in Monday night’s SOL Continental Conference showdown at North Penn.
The drama didn’t end there as the Knights inbounded the ball, and two passes later, Suleyman Hakim laid it in as time expired to give North Penn the dramatic win.
“One of the things we practice and we talk about is any time they score with six or more, we don’t call a timeout,” North Penn coach John Conrad said. “We just go.
“It was funny because I actually was thinking of a timeout. I’m glad it didn’t happen. Our kids inbounded, and we transitioned and scored the layup as time expired. It was a great win for us. We had two guys on Dobisch. He played outstanding, and he’s some competitor. We really had him well guarded, but he hit a long three from the corner that gave them the lead.”
Thanks to the Knights, the Continental Conference is once again a four-team race. CB South (7-3), Central Bucks West (6-3) and Pennridge (6-3) all have three losses while the Knights remain in the thick of things with a 6-4 league mark.
The Knights led 15-10 at the end of one quarter, but the Titans – who were without senior standout Matt Scamuffo (injury) – outscored the Knights by an identical margin in the second quarter. The two teams went into halftime deadlocked 25-25. The Knights held a 43-41 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The Titans were led by the 13-point performances of Dobisch and Ryan Tagliamonti. Josh Brodie added 11 points, and Paul Weeks, eight points.
For the Knights (8-9), the win halted a three-game losing streak.
“This is huge,” Conrad said. “We’ve been reeling the last couple of games, and it’s had an impact on our confidence, and it’s had an impact on our chemistry.
“One of the things we talked about – it’s not a matter of what they do, it’s a matter of what we do. We just have to play hard and play together. Throughout the game we were able to do that, and we were fortunate to come out with a win.”
Hakim led all scorers with 16 points while Brian Coleman added 11 points and Joe Richards had nine points. Jin Lim had eight points and Cordell Lord, seven points.
“Suleyman played well,” Conrad said. “Joey Richards guarded Dobisch most of the game, and I thought he did an outstanding job.”
While the Titans fell to 11-7 overall, the Knights are 8-9 overall.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 47, QUAKERTOWN 39
The Patriots continued their winning ways, winning their third straight and upping their league record to 5-4 (8-7 overall) with their come-from-behind win over the Panthers.
The two teams were deadlocked 16-16 after one quarter, and the Panthers led 27-22 at the intermission. The Patriots outscored the Panthers 9-3 in the third quarter to go on top 31-30 and sealed the win with a 16-9 fourth quarter.
Ben Kardane led a balanced East attack with 12 points while Tommy Strasburger added 11. Brendan O’Neil had eight points while Brendan McLaughlin had six. Strasburger also had 10 rebounds and six assists. Blake Peterson had five blocks and seven rebounds, and Kardane added six rebounds.
For the Panthers (6-11, 1-8 SOL), Griffin Schmidt led the way with 19 points.

National Conference
PENNSBURY 76, WILLIAM TENNENT 35
The Falcons took the suspense out of Monday’s game early, sprinting out of the gate to a 20-6 lead at the end of one quarter. Steve Ciotti scored eight of those points, and Cameron Jones added seven. The Falcons took a 38-20 lead into halftime and put an exclamation point on an impressive offensive performance with a 20-4 third quarter explosion.
Ciotti led the way with 17 points while Mekhi Bryant added 14. Jones finished with 13, and Derrick Woods had 11 points.
For the panthers, Matt Alden led the way with 11 points while Matt Brickman and John Ryan both added eight points.
The Falcons upped their record to 8-1 in league play (14-2 overall) while the Panthers fell to 4-5 in the league (6-9 overall)

HARRY S TRUMAN 52, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 51
The Tigers took a 40-31 lead into the fourth quarter and then withstood a late Golden Hawks comeback attempt.
Tyquan Law led the Tigers with 17 points while Pat Stone added 12 and Maurice Towner, 10 points. Jaier Brown added seven points.
The Golden Hawks were led by Tom Townsend with 14 points while Mike Stock and Dean Blank both added 14 points.
The Tigers limited the Golden Hawks to just one field goal in the first quarter, opening up a 9-4 lead behind four points from Law. Both teams scored 17 points in the second quarter. Stone had six for the Tigers while Blank had eight to lead the Golden Hawks.
The two teams boast identical 3-7 conference records and 5-13 records overall.

American Conference
PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 66, CHELTENHAM 36
The Colonials looked every bit the part of the American Conference’s top squad, jumping out to a 19-13 lead at the end of one quarter over the second place Panthers and then blowing the game open with a 23-6 scoring explosion in the second quarter to go into halftime on top 42-19.
TJ Minetola led a balanced attack with 17 points. Andre Mitchell had 12 points while Jimmy Murray and Cameron Johnson both added 11 points.
Cheltenham, which came into the game with just one league loss, was led by the nine-point effort of Aaron Burton. Faatir Al-Ahad added five points.
The Colonials remain perfect in conference play with a 10-0 record (16-2 overall). The Panthers saw their record drop to 8-2 in the league (8-10 overall).

WISSAHICKON 87, SPRINGFIELD (MONTCO) 55
The Trojans put on an offensive clinic on Monday night, turning an 18-13 lead at the end of one quarter into a 45-27 halftime advantage, thanks to a 27-point scoring explosion in the second quarter. The Trojans followed that with a 23-22 third quarter.
Four Trojans finished the game in double figures. Chris Vila and Todd Bentley led the way with 16 points each. Chase Wilson had 15 points, and Brandon Pace had 10.
For the Spartans, Larry Clark had 16 points, and Justin Hill added 10 points.
The Trojans are 6-4 in league play (9-8 overall) while the Spartans fell to 0-10 in the league (2-15 overall).
