COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 9, PENNSBURY 8 OT
The Indians upended their rival and the defending National Conference champions in the SOL opener for both teams on Friday. Laura Kwasnoski and Anna Lehman each connected for the hat trick to lead the Indians. Kwasnoski also had a pair of assists. Marina Schreiner added a goal and an assist while Katy Lehman and Devon Mela each added a goal.
For the Falcons, Carson Smith (four goals) and Missy Frankil (three goals, one assist) had big offensive performances. Ella Gambell added a goal, and Jenna Dzelganis had an assist.
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 15, SOUTHERN LEHIGH 10
The Titans used a balanced attack to earn the non-league win. Courtney Dietzel and Sarah Poli both contributed three goals and three assists. Devon Dietzel and Emily Cliggett each had two goals and one assist. Tori Wigand had two goals and two assists, and Krysta Reading added a pair of goals. Kelly Senor had one goal and one assist to close out the scoring.
South goalie Erin Putnam was credited with 13 saves.
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 21, MOUNT ST. JOSEPH 6
Jacq Fitzgerald turned in a standout all-around effort, contributing five goals, one assist, two caused turnovers and five draw controls. Elena Romesburg once again led the offense with seven goals. Sarah Gebre added the hat trick. Meghan Tillger (two goals, two assists) and Amanda Gundlach (two goals, one assist) also made important offensive contributions. Freshman Bryn Boylan had one goal and three assists while Madison Shields added one goal.
“The young Mount team jumped on draw controls early, and for the first 13 minutes, they were in control and capitalizing on (our) mistakes,” West coach Tara Schmucker said. “But West’s experience took over in the middle of the first half, and (we) started dominating draws and controlling.”
The Bucks improved to 3-0 on the young season.
BOYERTOWN 15, UPPER DUBLIN 10
The Flying Cardinals battled the Bears to a 6-6 halftime tie but then were outscored 9-4 in the second half.
Julie Cross scored four goals while Taylor D’Ginto had three goals and one assist to lead the Cardinals. Rachel DiFrangia added a pair of goals, and Anna Trentini had one goal.
Haley Wentzel led the Bears with six goals.
Upper Dublin goalie Sarah Gallagher had 12 saves.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 4, SOUDERTON 3
The Indians hung tough in Friday’s SOL opener against the visiting Hatters, but in the end, the defending Continental Conference champs prevailed. Connor McPoyle scored two goals while Zach Erwine added a goal and assist. Tony Zollo had one goal, and Pierre Armstrong had an assist.
Marc Poust had another big game in goal, turning away 12 of 15 shots he faced. Also making important contributions on the defensive end were seniors Jake Cresta, Keith Cameron and Ryan Moore. Freshman defenseman Matt Hammer also played well in his varsity debut.
The Hatters (2-1, 1-0 SOL) will host Central Bucks East on Monday night at Hatters Stadium (7 p.m.).
WISSAHICKON 8, SPRINGFIELD (MONTCO) 0
The Trojans led 1-0 after one quarter and took a 3-0 lead into halftime on their way to a shutout of the Spartans.
Nate DeGroat led the Trojans with one goal and four assists, and Luke Gomez added two goals and one assist. Tyler Zapach and Neal Guaglianone both had two goals while Alex Ortiz had one goal, and Jack Shea, one assist.
Wissahickon goalie Jake Myers was credited with nine saves in the shutout.

UPPER DUBLIN 17, NORRISTOWN 0
Eight Flying Cardinals put their names in the scoring column in Friday’s shutout of the Eagles. Sophomore Michael Sower had a hand in eight goals, contributing two goals and six assists. Michael Mullen added four goals and one assist, and Ryan Siwinski added four goals. Will Lunney and Sanjay Foster both had two goals, and Nick Vernacchio added a goal and assist. Contributing one assist each were Connor Wall, Jack Rapine, Nash Potts and Jake Headley.
Upper Dublin’s Bobby McPeake (two saves) and Max Bluestein (three saves) combined for five saves in the shutout.
