CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 11, AVON GROVE 9

Central Bucks East defeated #3 ranked Avon Grove (Lax Power PA State Rankings) in non-league play Saturday morning by a score of 11-9 at Avon Grove. This game capped a seven-game road trip for the Patriots (whose only loss on the road was to #1 ranked Malvern Prep). The Patriots move to 8-2 overall (5-0 in SOL play).
Matt Vetter and Matt Heim started the scoring for the Patriots as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter. The Devils tallied three quick goals to take their only lead of the game (3-2) at the 8:11 mark of the second quarter. CB East answered two minutes later with a goal from Matt Schmidt and then added 3 more. Avon Grove added one more to close out the first half with the Patriots holding on to a two-goal lead (6-4).
In the third quarter, CBE scored five unanswered goals and led by as much as 11- 4 before Avon Grove found the back of the net twice closing out the third 11- 6 CB East. Avon Grove scored at the 11:04 mark in the fourth quarter to make it 11-7, but the CB East defense led by goalie Sean McGovern (five saves in the fourth quarter), Tyler Butler, Mike Eveland, Will Dempster and Dustin Buchanan held the Devils scoreless until 1:35 when Beau Kush scored for Avon Grove. AG added one more goal with 55 seconds left and CB East controlled the ball to run out the clock and win 11-9.
Matt Vetter and Matt Heim had four goals each. Matt Schmidt had a pair and Ryan Brown had 1 goal. Andrew Del Bracco won 16-of-23 face-offs and had seven ground balls. Sean McGovern had nine saves in goal. Up next for Patriots will be CB South on Monday in Suburban One League play.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 13, SOUDERTON 6

DOYLESTOWN, PA -- The sun was shining brightly and the winds were calm; it was the perfect day for the Titans of Central Bucks South to honor their Senior Class with a 13-6 victory over the visiting Indians of Souderton.
With seniors Kevin Witchey, Bobby DiBrino, Jason Sklencar, and Kevin Uzelac playing solid defense for the Titans, it was the junior class who put on the offensive show. Junior attack man Brendan McGrath led all scorers with six goals, while his linemate, junior Chris Tanner, contributed three goals.
The Titans came out flying, scoring three quick goals (Tanner, McGrath, Tanner) the third of which came off a beautiful pass from Jamie Renneisen before the Indians were able to counter with a goal by Cam Trick. At the end of the first quarter, the Titans led 3-1.
In the second quarter, McGrath and Tanner picked-up where they left off, this time with McGrath netting two while Tanner scored one. Senior captain Anthony Paone also scored for the Titans while senior middie Matt Mignogna had two assists. Cordell Armstrong was able to find the twine for the Indians as the first half ended with an 8-2 Titan lead.
Corey Anlauf opened the second half scoring for Souderton, bouncing a shot past goalie Dillon Kelly that found the top left corner of the net just eight seconds in. But the Indians would never get any closer than five goals the rest of the way as the Titan juniors along with sophomore Evan Falkowski continued to score.
The Titans also got solid efforts at midfield from seniors Liam Walsh, A.J. Caputo, and Chris 'Rocket' Dougherty. Senior Anthony Paone scooped up 11 ground balls, winning a majority of the face-offs he took while senior goalie Jeff Pelkowski made two saves in goal.
The biggest story on the Souderton sidelines was the performance of goalie Remi Reeves, who made 21 saves in the losing effort, some of which were absolutely incredible! When all was said and done, the Titans walked away with a 13-6 victory on a day that was just perfect for lacrosse.
In pre-game ceremonies, each Titan senior was accompanied onto the field by his parents where he then presented his mom with a bouquet of flowers. It was announced where each Senior would continue his education, two of whom, Joel Zimmerman (Navy) and Nick Gannon (Army National Guard) will be serving their country in the military.

The Falcons received goals from Greg Kolowajtis and Greg Lichtenstein while Zach Abraham and Matt Anderson each contributed an assist in Saturday’s non-league game. Falcon goalie Jack Kenney was credited with seven saves.

UPPER MORELAND 13, ACADEMY OF THE NEW CHURCH 6
The Golden Bears, according to coach Pam Remmey, had great midfield transition and patience on attack in Saturday’s non-league win.
Delaney Smith was on fire, scoring a game-high seven goals. She also had one assist and seven draw controls.
Freshman Sydney Bachmoyer finished with the hat trick to go along with one assist, and senior captain Ashley Duff had two goals and one assist.
Remmey credited Veronica Baez for playing well in the midfield while scoring one goal and also contributing one assist and four draw controls. Melissa Felicetti and Melanie Wittick was acknowledged for playing strong defense.
Kait Taylor was credited with seven saves in goal for the Golden Bears.
SPRINGFIELD-MONTCO 17, JENKINTOWN 12
Riley Greenleaf had a monster game for the Spartans, scoring seven goals and also finishing with 10 draw controls. Juli Cardamone had a hand in five goals, contributing three goals and two assists. Bailey Krewson contributed the hat trick, and Marley Berger had two goals. Colleen Canavan had one goal and one assist, and Marie Brockman added a goal and had two caused turnovers.
Alicia Jin was credited with four saves in goal for the Spartans.
NORTH PENN 18, PARKLAND 7
Kaitlin Suzuki, Ashley Durham and Emily Schulze led the Maidens’ attack with four goals each. Durham also had an assist. Jen Delongis and Michele Lassen both contributed hat tricks while Sydney Lear added a goal, and Julia Keffer chipped in with an assist.
Emily Suzuki led the defense with three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Sophomore goalie Michelle Dyck was credited with nine saves.
METHACTON 16, UPPER MERION 7
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 13, GWYNEDD MERCY 12 (OT)
Courtney Dietzel scored with 1:41 remaining in overtime to propel the Titans to the dramatic non-league win over the Monarchs at the Check for Cancer Tournament at Agnes Irwin. Sarah Poli – who led the Titans with four goals and two assists – received game MVP honors.
Emily Cliggett connected for the hat trick and also had two assists. Dietzel and Tori Wigand both had two goals and one assist. Lauren Roberts added a single goal to close out the scoring.
For the Monarchs, Kelly Pizzirani led the way with four goals and two assists. Morgan Meehan had three goals and three assists, and Ashley Stefanowicz also had the hat trick. Kellie Dunn (one goal, one assist) and Lauren Dempsey (one goal) also contributed.
The two teams were deadlocked 7-7 at halftime and 12-12 at the end of regulation.
