NORTH PENN 20, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 12
The Maidens turned in their strongest performance of the season in Monday’s win over the Bucks in a key National Conference game.
“It was a total team effort, top to bottom,” said coach Jami Wilus Behm, who earlier in the day announced that she was stepping down from her post at the end of the season to spend more time with her family. “It was our best game of the season.
“The girls really passed the ball to each other. They were playing a backer-style defense, which is a high-pressure defense. In order to break it, you need to pass, and our players were really looking for each other.”
Sydney Lear had five goals to lead the Maidens’ attack while Emily Schulze added four goals and one assist as well as 10 draw controls. Ashley Durham had a hat trick and also was credited with five ground balls.
Julianna Hill had two goals, three draw controls and three ground balls, and Michelle Lessen had two goals and three assists. Kaitlin Suzuki had two goals and Jen DeLongis, one goal, one assist. Chloe Novak added a single goal.
Sophomore goalie Michelle Dyck was credited with seven saves.
“Defensively, we had Emily Schulze and Katelyn Phifer face guarding Elena Romesburg and Bryn Boylan, and I thought they did a magnificent job of taking them out of their rhythm,” Behm said. “I don’t think you’re ever going to truly stop Elena. She’s powerful, she’s strong and she’s ball hungry, but Emily Schulze won 10 draw controls and just kind of controlled the midfield.”
While the Bucks fell to 4-2 in league play, the Maidens improved to 5-1.
“I think they’ve been wondering when I would say ‘good job’ to them,’ Behm said. “After this game, I was like – ‘Great win, great job.’
“I see the potential a lot of times, and they don’t always see it. They might think I’m nitpicking, but in a game like this, when it all comes together, I think they feel that. They feel that energy, they felt that cohesiveness – defensively making a stop, winning draw controls. It sort of all came all together for us. I thought from start to finish – even though it was close at times – that we really controlled the tempo of the game.”
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 12, UPPER MERION 7
Courtney Dietzel (four goals, one assist) and Sarah Poli (three goals, two assists) both had five-point games to lead the Titans. Freshman Krysta Reading had two goals while Corrine Kenney and Emily Cliggett each contributed one goal and one assist. Kelly Senour added a goal to close out the scoring for the Titans.
SOUDERTON 19, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 13
Natalie Bulgier and Amber Lambeth led the Indians’ balanced attack with four goals and one assist each. Brittany Roynan had a five-point night as well with three goals and two assists. Chessie Rahmer had three goals and one assist, and Krista Schneider also connected for a hat trick. Nikki Palmer had two goals and one assist on a night that saw both Rahmer and Bulgier reach the 100-goal milestone.
For the Golden Hawks, Gabi Rosenfeld led the way with an eight –point game, contributing five goals and three assists. Mollie Sheehy added three goals and one assist while Neena Culleton had a pair of goals. Caroline McGovern dished off three assists while Meg Sheehy had one goal and one assist. Mary Kate Simpson and Nikki Boyd both had one goal. Anna DiDonato and Katiie Bagdon both had one assist to round out the scoring for the Golden Hawks.
Souderton goalie Kelly Williams was credited with 11 saves while Rock South’s Claire Quist had 18 saves.
ABINGTON 13, WISSAHICKON 11
The two teams found themselves deadlocked 5-5 at the intermission, and the visiting Ghosts outscored the Trojans 8-6 in the second half to each the big win.
Jeannie Van Buren had a big day for the Ghosts, contributing five goals while Sam McGee added the hat trick. Emma Garg contributed a pair of goals, and chipping in with one goal were Kat Thallner, Mikki Raymand and Casey McAllister.
Zoe Gomez scored four goals and added an assist to lead the Trojans. Christina Tsiobikas and Emily Vervlied both added two goals. Vervlied also had a pair of assists. Lauren Irvine, Clair Tarzia and Carolyn Wilde each added single goals. Shannon Stagliano had a pair of assists, and Rachel Zucker had one assist to close out the scoring.
Gomez, Tsiobikas and Vervlied led the Trojans with three ground balls each. Gomez and Vervlied both had three draw controls. Goalie Julie Silverman was credited with seven saves.

UPPER MORELAND 10, JENKINTOWN 9
The Golden Bears continued to turn heads, rallying from a 4-3 halftime deficit to win their seesaw battle with the visiting Drakes.
Ashley Duff connected for a goal to knot the score 8-8, and after the Drakes scored to go on top by one, Duff once again answered with a goal to knot the score. It was Duff connecting for her fifth goal of the game with 1:23 remaining in regulation to give the Golden Bears a lead they would not lose.
In goal, Kait Taylor turned away 10 shots.
“Melissa Felicetti and Sarah Reice played well on defense,” coach Pam Remmey said.
Sydney Bachmayer had two goals, and Alison Felicetti had a goal and two assists. Delaney Smith had one goal and one assist, and Sarah Reice had one goal. Veronica Baez was credited for playing a strong game in the midfield with three draw controls and four ground balls, and Mel Wittick had three draw controls and four ground balls.

GWYNEDD MERCY 14, SPRINGFIELD 7
Riley Greenleaf had four goals and also was credited with five draw controls to lead the Spartans in Monday’s non-league contest. Juli Cardamone had two goals and two draw controls while Bailey Krewson had one goal. Colleen Canavan and Meg Chandler each had two draw controls. Molly Fitzpatrick and Marie Brockman both were credited with two caused turnovers. In goal, Margarethe Leis had four saves.
HATBORO-HORSHAM 19, PENNSBURY 10 (Friday, April 25)
Sydney Rausa (five goals, two assists), Casey Swezey (two goals, three assists), Katie McKay (four goals) and Maria Guerra (two goals, one assist) led a balanced Hatter attack. Colby Eldridge had two goals while Carly Daley and Rachel Rausa both had one goal and one assist. Annette DeSipio and Kaitlyn Wallace each added one goal, and Gabby Acker had one assist.
McKay also had eight draw controls, and Swezey had five ground balls, three draw controls, two caused turnovers and one interception. Colby Eldridge had two ground balls and four draws.
Hatter goalie Emily Wallace was credited with six saves.
PENNRIDGE 20, POTTSGROVE 8
Sparked by a pair of goals from Jordan Rimmer, the Lady Rams sprinted out of the gate to a 5-1 lead. By halftime, Rimmer – who finished with five goals – had a hat trick, and seven players had contributed goals for the Lady Rams, who led 10-6.
The second half belonged to the Lady Rams, who went on to open up a 19-6 lead after a goal by Jackie Stevens before Pottsgrove scored a pair of late goals.
In addition to Rimmer’s five-goal effort, Allison Fugate also had a hand in five goals with three goals and two assists. Stevens and Jess Csaszar both finished with four goals while Jen Rodzewich had a pair of goals. Devon Rimmer contributed a goal and an assist, and Maddie Dachowski added a single goal. Aime Beck had an assist.
Coach Brieann Wolfe credited the standout performances of Stevens, Jordan Rimmer and Csaszar in the midfield.
“They all had fantastic games,” she said.

NORTH PENN 13, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 2
The Knights jumped out to a 6-0 lead after one quarter over their neighboring rivals and extended that lead to 8-0 by halftime on their way to the convincing win.
Luke Homan (four goals) and Jake Hughes (three goals, one assist) both had four-point games to lead the Knights. Jake Diamond added two goals and one assist while teammate Zack McKelvie had one goal and two assists. Scott Keffer contributed one goal and one assist while Matt Brady added a single goal with the team receiving credit for the final goal.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 10, PENNRIDGE 5
Corey Schott contributed the hat trick while Jimmy Seykot added two goals and two assists. Clark Hawes had two goals and one assist, and Reece Udinski contributed a goal and an assist. Danny Wilson and Kyle Schechter both scored single goals, and Ryan Green chipped in with an assist to close out the scoring.
West goalie Matt Harvan turned away 13 of the 18 shots he faced while his counterpart, Owen Clemmer, had nine saves.
Schott and Tim Kiel led the Bucks with six ground balls each.
