Pennridge 10, Central Bucks West 6
Eric Wesolowski turned in a glittering performance on the mound for the Rams, relieving starter Ryan Denner in the first with no outs and pitching six strong innings.
He allowed just one run (unearned) while retiring 11 batters in a row during an impressive stretch from the third through the sixth innings. Dan Shane closed it out with a scoreless seventh.
“He was tremendous,” coach Tom Nuneviller said of Wesolowski. “He kept their team off balance with his curve ball. He had a great game.”
The Bucks plated six runs in the first, turning a 2-0 deficit into a 6-2 lead, but the Rams kept chipping away, scoring one in the second and two more in the third. Pennridge knotted the score with one run in the sixth and won it with a four-run outburst in the sixth.
“We had some timely hits and stayed right in the game and had a big inning right at the end,” Nuneviller said. “I was just glad we hung around and were able to come out with a win.”
All told, the Rams pounded out 13 hits. Tyler Shoultes was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Shane was 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored. Dan Long was 2-for-2 with a walk, sacrifice bunt and run scored, and Evan Tice was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI. Dave Tatoian had a triple while Joe Unangst had a double and RBI. Jeff Roedell also had an RBI for the Rams.
“Dan Shane has come to life,” Nuneviller said. “Tyler Shoultes and (Dave) Tatoian are hitting the ball.”
The Bucks managed six just hits.
While the Bucks are 5-5 in league play (6-5 overall), the Rams are 6-4 in the league (8-4 overall).
“We’re kind of on the outside looking in,” said Nuneviller, whose team is in third place in the conference standings. “We knew if we wanted to do anything we had to get wins and string some together.”

North Penn 7, Quakertown 6
The Panthers held a 9-8 edge in hits, but the visiting Knights had the only advantage that mattered – on the scoreboard, holding off a late Panther rally to eke out the win under the lights at Quakertown Memorial Park.
The Knights went on top 3-0 in the top of the first, capitalizing on a pair of RBI groundouts as well as an RBI single by Jared Melone. They tacked on a single run in the second and led 7-0 after plating one in the fifth and two more in the sixth. Melone and Stella contributed RBI singles in the pivotal sixth.
The Panthers didn’t go down quietly. A three-run sixth was highlighted by a two-run double by Jake Reed and an RBI double by Cam Delisle. They added three more runs in the seventh, sparked by an RBI single by Delisle and a two-run single by Vinny LaCava.
Chris Kearsey had a productive night to lead North Penn, finishing the nights 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs scored. Melone was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, and Stella was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

American Conference

Cheltenham 3, Wissahickon 2
The Trojans gave the Panthers all they could handle in a spirited American Conference battle.
“This was one of those games where I felt we could have easily lost,” Cheltenham coach Frank Decembrino said. “We were fortunate.
“We were kind of flat, and we pressed a little bit on offense. To be able to win when you’re not playing your best is a testament to the character of the team.  Wissahickon played well. They grinded it out, and so did we, and we were able to pull it out at the end.”
It looked liked the Panthers were off and running when they scored three runs in the third to take an early 3-0 lead. Gabe Hofferman delivered an RBI single and Kevin Graham continued his torrid offensive production with an RBI triple into the gap in left center.
The Trojans plated a single run in the fifth without the benefit of a hit when starting pitcher Jack McGlade issued a bases-loaded walk. They added one more in the sixth on a sacrifice fly to make it a 3-2 game. The Trojans had the tying run on third base in the seventh, but Jack O’Grady, who earned the save, collected the final out on a fly ball to right field. McGlade and O’Grady combined on a one-hitter but issued seven walks and hit a batter.
“This was Jack O’Grady’s second appearance since his surgery a year-and-a-half ago, and it was nice to see him get the save,” Decembrino said. “It was not an easy one.”
The Panthers maintain their stronghold on first place in the conference standings, improving to 10-0 in league play (12-3 overall). The Trojans are 5-5 in the league (5-7 overall).

The Colonials provided more than enough offensive support for Whalon in a six-run second inning.
PW received multiple hits from Connor Purdy (2-for-4, 2 RBIs, one run), Evan Bischoff (3-for-3, one run) and Zach Metz (2-for-4, double, one run). Dylan Ensslin doubled in his lone plate appearance.
The Colonials are 7-3 in league play (9-3 overall) while the Vikings are 2-7 in the league (4-9 overall).

Upper Moreland 1, Upper Dublin 0
Eddie Decker had himself quite a day on Friday. The Golden Bear standout tossed a complete game three-hit shutout, fanning nine and walking four with three of those walks coming in the same inning.
On the offensive side, Decker delivered an RBI single in the second to drive in the game’s only run.
“It was really his day,” Upper Moreland coach Ernie Rehr said. “He’s Mr. Consistency. We know what we’re going to get out of him.
“Charlie (Hooker) is the same way. When those two guys are on the mound, we have a specific agenda, and we know what to expect.”
Decker’s game winner plated Colton Hooker, who drew a walk after a tough at-bat. The Bears had runners on first and second with one out after a single by Tommy Robinson, setting the stage for Decker.
Upper Dublin’s Christian Huckfeldt turned in a superb effort of his own on the mound, allowing just four hits – two in the pivotal second.
“It was really good pitching,” Rehr said. “Huckfeldt on their side pitched really well, kind of kept us off balance, so we were scraping anything we could to get a run in.”
The Golden Bears upped their league record to 7-3 (8-5 overall) while the Flying Cardinals are 5-5 in league play (7-6 overall).
