Cheltenham Panthers 5 – Upper Merion Vikings 4
Cheltenham (12-1) was crowned outright conference champions with its come-from-behind 5-4 victory over visiting Upper Merion (3-8). The Panthers scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to collect its outright title.
“I would be lying if I told you that (I thought) we were going to win a championship at the beginning of the season,” said Cheltenham head coach Frank Decembrino. “I knew that we were going to pitch well – I knew we could play good defense – and once we started hitting the ball well midway through the season I knew we had a chance.
“It has been real emotional the last few games,” added Decembrino. “We lost our only conference game of the year to Upper Moreland in our last game, and it was great for us to be able to come back and win this game.”
Cheltenham will close its season on Tuesday against Norristown.
“We have talked all season about one pitch, one play, one game,” said Decembrino. “The kids are very aware that we are going to play in districts. But we’ll get into all that after Norristown.”
Max Perilstein had a three-hit game to lead the Panthers while Andrew DelGuidice had three hits for the Vikings.

Upper Dublin Flying Cardinals 1 – Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials 0 (8 innings)
Upper Dublin (6-7) received a superlative outing from Dan Jacobson as the Flying Cardinal ace fired a complete game – limited PW (8-5) to just two hits – and struck out seven Colonial hitters.
“Dan is coming back from injury – and he was missed,” said Upper Dublin head coach Ed Wall. “We have had a tough time recently losing one run games to both Upper Moreland (1-0) and Cheltenham (4-3). It was great to be able to win a one run game.”
Upper Dublin scored the game-winning run in the last of the eighth inning when Thomas Juelke stroked the game winning single with the bases loaded.
UD’s Connor McFadden (2-for-4) was the lone player to collect multiple hits in the game.
Mike Whalon threw seven shutout innings for the Colonials and earned a no-decision.

Upper Moreland Golden Bears 12 – Springfield Spartans 2
Upper Moreland (10-3) moved into sole possession of second place as the Golden Bears pounded out 14 hits in beating hostSpringfield (2-9).
Eddie Decker collected the win for Upper Moreland and improved his season record to 5-1. Decker also fueled the Bear offense with three hits and four RBI.
Tommy Robinson had three hits for the winners, while Colton Hooker drove home a pair of runs.

Wissahickon Trojans 10 – Norristown Eagles 6
Wissahickon (7-6) moved over .500 in the conference as the Trojans scored five runs in the first inning and coasted to the win over visiting Norristown (1-10).
Logan Willians threw five innings for Wissahickon and struck out eight hitters in earning the victory. Jacob Segal had three RBI for the Trojans, while Matt Oruch had two RBI.

Suburban One League Continental Conference
Pennridge Rams 6 – Central Bucks East 4 (9 innings)
Pennridge (9-4) will play for a conference title on Tuesday as the Rams took care of business with the extra inning win over Central Bucks East (6-6). Pennridge will host North Penn at Second Street Park next week with the title on the line.
“We are right where we want to be – in a position to play for a championship,” said Pennridge head coach Tom Nuneviller. “We are playingour best baseball right now – and this is the time you want to be playing your best baseball.”
Playing his best baseball right now is sophomore Dan Long. Long – who had three hits - delivered the game-winning hit in the ninth inning with a bases loaded single. His hit made a winning pitcher out of – Dan Long. The sophomore pitcher faced just eight batters over two innings, giving up one hit while striking out one. Pennridge used four pitchers in the nine-inning marathon.
The Rams, who pounded out 15 hits, were led by the three-hit efforts of Brad Misialek and Dan Shane. Adding two hits were Dave Tatoian (double, 2 RBIs), Long (2 RBIs) and Tom Nuneviller (double). For the Patriots, Brandon Birkhead was 3-for-4 with two RBIs while Carter Usowski and Thomas Prato both had two hits.

North Penn Knights 11 – Central Bucks West 4
North Penn (9-4) will play for a conference title on Tuesday as the Knights took care of business with the extra inning win over Central Bucks West (5-8). NPHS will visit Pennridge next week with the title on the line.
“We put ourselves in a position to win a championship – and now we can focus on that game,” said North Penn head coach Kevin Manero. “We showed a lot of character coming back from the (13-0) loss to CB East in our last game.”
Kellen Williamson – who started the East game and threw just 30 pitchers – was the winning pitcher for the Knights. He threw six shutout innings for the winners, allowing just two hits. Chris Kearsey fueled the offense with four hits, including a double, while Alex Peterson had a double and three RBI. Jared Melone and Bobby Scott (two doubles) each had two hits and two RBI for the Knights. Robert Phillips had one of West’s three hits – a triple. He also drove in a run.
“It’s down to a one game season,” said Manero. “Both Pennridge and us will put our best lineups on the field.”

Hatboro-Horsham 11 – Quakertown 3
Hatboro-Horsham (8-4) could play for a share of the conference title next Tuesday as the Hatters 
topped host Quakertown (2-11). If the Hatters can defeat Central Bucks South (5-7) today, then H-H would play for a piece of the title at Central Bucks West (5-8) next week.
“We have a lot of work to do,” said Hatboro-Horsham head coach Pete Moore. “Eight wins might get you in the (district) playoffs – nine wins should get you in – and 10 wins would get you a share of the championship. It is going to be very interesting.”
If ever a score did not reflect a game, this was it. Quakertown led 3-2 heading into the fifth inning when the Hatters scored the tying run, and the two teams were deadlocked 3-3 after six innings, but the Hatters blew the game wide open with an eight-run seventh.
Colin Kennedy earned the win for the Hatters, throwing 2.1 scoreless innings in relief. Ryan Murray started on the mound and also made his first start in the batting order. He pitched 3.2 innings, allowing three unearned runs. At the plate, he was 2-for-3 with two doubles, a sacrifice fly and three RBIs. His biggest hit came in the top of the sixth with the Hatters trailing 3-2 and Alex Kleidon (2-for-3, three runs, BB) on first after a two-out single. Murphy hit a one-hopper over the fence for a double that scored Kleidon and tied the game.
The Hatters’ offense came alive as they pounded out 14 hits in the victory. Junior Chris Crookham was 3-for-5 with a triple, two runs and an RBI. Eric Lane was 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI, and Joe Simmons was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and two RBI. His two RBIs came on a go-ahead bases-loaded double in the top of the seventh. Brad Humski was 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and sacrifice fly.
For the Panthers, Vinny LaCava and Pat San Angelo both had a double. Mark Repsher pitched six strong innings, but after putting the Hatters put their lead runner on board in the seventh, coach Jon Pallone went to his bullpen. The Panthers struggled to get three outs.

Central Bucks South Titans 7 – Souderton Indians 1
Central Bucks South (5-7) delivered a district playoff blow to Souderton (6-6).
“All we can do is win our last two games against Central Bucks East on Monday and Quakertown on Tuesday and hope that eight wins is enough,” said Souderton head coach Michael Childs. “We beat North Penn twice – we beat Hatboro-Horsham once – but we still need to win these last two games to make it matter.”
Alex Spector and Steve Trachtenberg both doubled and drove in a pair of runs for the Titans. Spector was 3-for-4 while Alex Bendzlowicz was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Mike Kuypers was the winning pitcher, allowing just four hits while walking none and striking out five in the complete game win.
Dan Heilemann absorbed the loss for the Indians, who were led by the 2-for-3 effort of Blake Gular (RBI).

Council Rock South 6 – William Tennent 5
Council Rock South (9-3) remained in sole possession of first place with the revenge victory over William Tennent (5-7).
“We were down 3-0 but came back against a good Tennent team,” said Council Rock head coach Ted Kirner. “This was our fourth game in a row this week – and I was proud of how we handled the week against some very good teams.
“If we can beat Council Rock North and Bensalem next week we would win an outright championship,” added Kirner. “It would be great to win a league title.”
The Panthers took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first only to watch the Golden Hawks answer with six in the bottom of the inning. Tennent outhit Rock South by a decisive 13-3 margin. Ben Zeitz was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Brett Kozlowski (2-for-4), Stephen Hatala (2-for-3, RBI) and Danny Hicks (2-for-3, RBI) also had multiple hits. Tim Brodhag drove in a pair of runs.
For the Golden Hawks, Connor Macaulay had a pair of RBI.
Matt Walsh was the winning pitcher for the Hawks throwing the first four innings. Nick Fabiano threw the final three scoreless innings for the save.

Council Rock North Indians 11 – Neshaminy Redskins 3
Council Rock North (8-4) captured a key win and created a traffic jam at the top of the conference standings with the win over host Neshaminy (8-5).
“We can play for a championship against South if we can beat Truman (today) and South,” said Council Rock North head coach Matt Schram. “But you can’t take Truman for granted – they are well coached and they beat South this year. We have to focus on the game we’re playing.”
In the win over Neshaminy, Tyler Callender had three hits and 4 RBI – Brandon McIlwain had three hits with a homerun – and JR Hicks had two hits and a homerun.

Pennsbury Falcons 11 – Abington Ghosts 0 (5 innings)
Pennsbury (8-5) kept its championship hopes alive as the Falcons soared to the easy wins over Abington (5-8).
“We have our sights set on Neshaminy next Tuesday – it would be great to be able to beat them twice in the same season,” said Pennsbury head coach Joe Pesci. “We lost a couple of tough games last week, but we still have a good shot at making the playoffs with 9 wins.”
Brody McFadden was the winning pitcher for Pennsbury. Justin Jacko, Matt Kaiser, Shaughn Wright, and Brendan Campbell all had huge hits for the Falcons.
