Local Referees Volunteer at Ronald McDonald House
Lansdale, PA – Seven Officers and Executive Board Members of the North Penn P.I.A.A. Basketball Officials Chapter recently volunteered to cook dinner for twenty-one families at a Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. Donating their time, talents and the entire meal, the referees served the families of seriously ill children who have traveled from across the country to St. Christopher’s Hospital at Front and Erie Streets.
The evening meal is a welcomed relief for the families as they return from a long and often exhausting day at the hospital. It creates an opportunity for families to interact with one another, share their stories, and learn from people who are in similar situations. The local referees are: Tom Blackwell, Rick Fertig, Terry Moyer and Greg Moyer all from Hatfield, Paul Collins from Montgomeryville, Paul Kozeniewski from Franconia and Larry Chylack from Souderton.
