On Tuesday October 7, 2014, the boys varsity water polo team traveled to Souderton for a conference re-match. Souderton beat the Trojans last month by one goal in our home pool. This time around it was Wissahickon who would come out on top winning convincingly 15-11. Souderton jumped out to an early lead outscoring Wiss by 2-1 in the first period. In the second period, Souderton outscored the Trojan boys by a score of 6-3 so the half ended with Wissahickon down 8-4. The Trojan boys displayed their maturity however and came roaring back after the half. Jake Berring lead the Wissahickon offense scoring 5 of his 7 total goals during that period. Wissahickon scored a total of 7 to Souderton's two goals during the third period. Ben Tate had five solid saves (of his 12 total) during this period to keep the Trojans' momentum alive! This set the stage for a fourth period that opened with Wissahickon in the lead by 1 (11-10). Jake Berring scored early in the fourth to give the Trojans a two-goal advantage, but Souderton quickly scored to bring them within in. The Trojan boys did not back down. Tim DeMarinis, Ben Tumulo, and Daniel Berring all scored during the fourth to extend the Trojans lead and end the game winning by 4. A stunned Souderton crowd watched in silence. What an exciting finish!. Thanks to the girls team for their support during the game and to the fans and players who displayed their Trojan Pride.
