Senior Michael Guldin (Pennridge) hit three free throws over the final 25 seconds, erasing a one-point deficit and leading DeSales to a 74-72 win over John Jay College in the consolation game of the TownePlace Suites Tip-Off Tournament at Messiah College on Saturday. Guldin finished with 16 points and six assists while freshman Aaron Burton (Cheltenham) added seven points off the bench. In Friday’s opening round 65-64 loss to Eastern Mennonite, Guldin scored five straight points late in the second half to give DeSales a 64-63 lead, but EMU grabbed two offensive rebounds late and scored the game-winning bucket with 0.4 seconds left. Guldin finished with 16 points to lead all scorers while Burton added nine. Senior Travis Bryan (Hatboro-Horsham) grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds and had two blocked shots.
Senior guard Whis Grant (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 15 points in No. 4 East Stroudsburg’s 78-66 win over Millersville on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 92-69 win at Lock Haven, Grant scored 14 of his team-high 18 points in the second half.
Evan Dunn (Central Bucks West) scored 13 points in Albright’s 65-62 win over Penn State-Harrisburg on Saturday.
Junior forward Dave Knox (Central Bucks South) had 10 rebounds in Washington College’s 67-34 loss to Wesley on Saturday. It was his second double-figure rebounding effort of the season. In last Sunday’s 68-59 loss to Juniata in the consolation game of the Division III Hampton Inn Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, Knox led the 
Shoremen with 13 points and game-high eight rebounds. Senior guard Sean Brooks (North Penn) scored 10 points.
Wes Brooks (North Penn) contributed 11 points, two assists and two steals in McDanniel’s 83-60 win over CCNY in the championship game of the 2014 Penn State-Harrisburg Tipoff Tournament last Sunday.
Zach Sibel (Pennsbury) had a pair of treys in an eight-point performance in Delaware Valley’s 83-46 win over Penn State Berks on Saturday. In last Sunday’s 67-57 loss to The College of New Jersey in the consolation game of the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins Tipoff Tournament, Sibel came off the bench to score 10 points.
Senior Marcus Badger (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had 13 points and six rebounds in 11th-ranked Randolph-Macon’s 70-49 win over Wittenberg on Saturday in the Hoopsville National Invitational. In Tuesday’s 71-70 loss at No. 24 Christopher Newport, Badger had 10 points. In last Sunday’s 63-58 win over Mary Washington, Badger had 10 points and six assists.
Junior guard Aaron Morgan (Council Rock North) scored 14 points, which included 3-of-5 shots from behind the arc, in UMBC’s 69-51 loss to 2014-15 NIT champion Minnesota on Saturday.
Junior Ryan Arcidiacono (Neshaminy) scored 15 points in No. 12 Villanova’s 72-65 win over Bucknell on Thursday night.
Gwynedd Mercy junior Julian Hyden (Bensalem) was named to the Colonial States Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Honor Roll in the first weekly awards of the season. He was selected to the honor roll as he finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, five steals and two assists in the Griffins’ 91-59 win over Penn State-Berks. He was 4-for-8 from the floor, including a 2-for-4 stint from beyond the arc.
Hyden netted 27 points, which included four three-pointers, in Gwynedd Mercy’s 85-65 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday. Sophomore Arron Goodman (Council Rock North) added 19 points, which included three three-pointers. In Friday’s 68-63 loss to Catholic at the Hooopsville National Invitational Classic on Friday, Goodman finished with 13 points. In Tuesday’s 85-70 win over Wesley, Goodman led the Griffins with 23 points and nine rebounds. Hyden added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Junior forward Ryan O’Neil (Central Bucks East) pulled down five rebounds and added three points in his first collegiate action in Moravian’s 77-73 loss to Hood College last Sunday.

Junior guard Ciara Andrews (Cheltenham) scored a career-high 23 points and also had four assists in St. Joe’s 76-75 overtime loss to Liberty on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 78-74 overtime win over Temple, Andrew scored 14 points.
Tyra Roberts (Bensalem) scored 10 points and added four rebounds in Alvernia’s 54-51 win over Lycoming on Saturday.
Junior Emily O’Donnell (William Tennent) came off the bench to score 11 points in the first half of Albright’s 82-72 win over Keystone on Saturday. She finished with 15 points and five rebounds.

In Wednesday’s 69-36 loss to Stevenson, Kendall had 11 points and three blocks. In last Sunday’s 62-53 loss to Ramapo in the championship game of the Roadrunner Tip-Off Tournament, Kendall scored 12 points.
Alex Wheatley (Council Rock South) scored a team-high 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting in Princeton’s 59-43 win over Drexel on Wednesday. She also had four rebounds, three blocks and three steals.
Senior guard Devin Gold (Council Rock North) contributed a pair of three-pointers in a 17-point run in Caldwell’s 76-71 win over Lock Haven on Saturday night.
Amie Eppolito (Pennsbury) contributed 12 points, five rebounds and two assists in Cairn University’s 71-46 loss to Trinity Baptist on Friday. In Saturday’s 70-34 loss to Johnson University, Eppolito had 10 points.
Junior Stephanie Knauer (North Penn) recorded 12 points and seven rebounds in Shippensburg’s 64-57 loss to No. 16 Bloomsburg on Saturday.
Shippensburg freshman Vicky Tumasz (North Penn) was named the PSAC Eastern Division Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week for the week ending Nov. 16 after her debut weekend in the Wolf’s Bus Lines Classic. Overall, Tumasz totaled 16 points and four assists as Shippensburg split its games. Tumasz earned her first collegiate start in SU’s second game of the weekend, a 79-55 triumph over Bowie State. She had four points, three assists and two rebounds without a turnover. In the season opener, Tumasz played 27 minutes off the bench and contributed 12 points, including three three-pointers.
Freshman Allison Gallagher (Souderton) had 16 points in Widener’s 67-57 win over Neumann on Saturday. In Widener’s 69-58 win over Cabrini, Gallagher shot 7-for-10 from the field to record 18 points. The guard added four assists and two steals. Gallagher went 4-for-6 from beyond the arc in 22 minutes.

La Salle sophomore Chris Berry (Central Bucks West) posted a time of 26:50.7 and crossed the finish line in 76th place at the IC4A/ECAC Championships at Van Cortland Park on Saturday. The team finished in 14th place with 346 points and an average time of 26:51.26.
Bloomsburg's James Wilson (Central Bucks South) posted a time of 38:41 at the 2014 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Chamiponships on Saturday.

Bloomsburg's Kate Dodds (Upper Dublin) finished in fifth place with a time of 22:51 at the 2014 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championships. Dodds earned All-Region honors. Teammate Keelan McDonald (Central Bucks West) finished 26th with a time of 23:31. The Huskies finished as runner-up to Edinboro and will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships on Dec. 6 in Louisville, Ky.
Temple’s Megan Schneider (Hatboro-Horsham) posted a time of 21:02.7 at the ECAC Championships on Saturday.
Kutztown redshirt freshman Olivia Dettore (Central Bucks West) came up big in her first regional race, placing 52nd with a time of 24:37.7 at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championships Saturday. Redshirt seniors Elizabeth McLaughlin (Upper Dublin) and Carolyn Fergus (North Penn) wrapped up their cross country careers with and 89th place finish for McLaughlin and a 93rd rank for Fergus.
FIELD HOCKEY
Wesleyan junior captain Hannah Plappert (Council Rock North) was named to the 2014 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III New England West Region second team. She finished the season with eight goals and one assist, leading the team both goals and points (17).
Elizabethtown senior Hannah Heritage (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was named to the 2014 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll. The honor roll recognizes fall student-athletes who have reached sophomore standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.
Messiah senior Becky Ely (Council Rock North) received 2014 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-Region first team honors. Ely is well known to be one of the top defenders in the South Atlantic Region. Though she tallied four goals and six assists for Messiah, her main contributions are oftentimes outside the stat sheet. Ely was the primary leader of a Falcon defense that held opponents to 1.45 goals per game on just 9.7 shots per game.
Sophomore goalie Kelly Schlupp (Council Rock South) recorded five saves in The College of New Jersey’s 2-0 win over Bowdoin College on Sunday in Lexington, Va., as TCNJ captured the program’s 11th NCAA Division II National Championship. The Rock South grad earned a spot on the all-tournament team. Amanda Krause (Council Rock North) is one of five seniors on the squad who won their second national title. In Saturday’s 2-0 semifinal win over Middlebury, Schlupp turned away all five shots she faced.
Schlupp was one of six TCNJ players selected by the New Jersey Athletic Conference for her performance during the week ending Nov. 16. The Rock South grad was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week after not allowing a single goal in wins over SUNY New Paltz (4-0) and Catholic University (1-0).
FOOTBALL
California University of Pennsylvania senior center Jack Abercrombie (Hatboro-Horsham) repeated as an All-PSAC West First Team honoree, earning All-PSAC West status for the third time in his career. He started all 10 games this season at center and anchored an offensive line that helped Cal U average 447.6 yards of total offense and 38.1 points per game.
Abercrombie also was selected to the Capital One Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). With his selection, Abercrombie is now eligible for consideration on the Capital One Academic All-America Teams, which will be announced next month. The Vulcans have now featured at least one academic and all-district honoree for seven consecutive years. Abercrombie earned academic all-district laurels for the second straight year. A two-year team captain, Abercrombie holds a 3.43 cumulative grade point average while finishing a degree in education with a concentration in mathematics. To qualify for the academic all-district honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.30 GPA or higher and must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution. Nominees must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s games and must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.
Lycoming College senior running back Craig Needhammer (North Penn) earned First Team All-Middle Atlantic Conference honors. He became the first Warrior running back to earn back-to-back first team All-MAC honors since 2000-01 and only the sixth in school history to accomplish that feat. The senior ran for a school- record 299 yards in his last game at FDU-Florham, helping him break Josh Kleinfelter’s record of 3,664 career rushing yards, finishing with 3,713 yards in his career with that rush. Needhammer finished his career with a school-record 42 touchdowns, 39 rushing touchdowns and 5,291 all-purpose yards. He set single-season records for rushing touchdowns (13), all-purpose yards (1,867) and kick returns (482). He also set the single-game all-purpose yardage record of 339 yards. As a senior, he finished third in the league with 1,242 rushing yards and second with 13 touchdowns. His 186.7 all-purpose yards lead the MAC and are sixth nationally.
Needhammer earned his first D3football.com Team of the Week award and also was named the USA College Football Running Back of the Week for the week ending Nov. 16. He had a 50-yard touchdown run with 2:47 remaining in Lycoming’s 45-27 win over FDU-Florham, helping him break the school’s single game and career rushing records on the same carry. Needhammer finished with 299 yards, helping him break numerous records in his final collegiate game. He broke the school record for rushing yards in a game of 253 set by Tim Deasy in 2001, doing it on 30 carries.
Lycoming senior John Sibel (Pennsbury) was named to the 2014 MAC Sportsmanship Team. A four-year letter winner, Sibel was a key receiver for the Warriors the last four seasons. He caught at least 26 balls in each of his last three seasons and amassed 1,094 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He is part of a senior class that has won 31 games and won a share of the MAC title in 2013. The MAC Sportsmanship Teams include a player from each conference school who has demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship through their actions on and off the field during the season. The teams are selected by the players and coaches from their respective schools.
Shippensburg junior Sheldon Mayer (Norristown) earned 2014 All-PSAC First Team honors. It is his second first team honor in two years. The Norristown grad ranked second in the PSAC with 1,099 receiving yards on 72 catches during his junior season and was just one of three 1,000-yard receivers in the league this season. He scored a touchdown in eight of the team’s 11 games, including a nine-catch, 194-yard performance in the season opener at Seton Hill and a 14-catch, 198-yard display in the season finale at Mercyhurst. Mayer had 11 receiving touchdowns, ranking 15th in Division II, while ranking 13th in the country for receiving yards.
East Stroudsburg redshirt senior defensive end Brandon Gattelli (Bensalem) was named to the 2014 All-PSAC East first team. The Bensalem grad had 49 tackles, 10.5 for a loss, and 9.5 sacks as a senior. He made 40 career starts, the first ESU defensive player with 40-plus starts since at least 2003. He had 155 career tackles, 36.0 TFL, 23.5 sacks, five forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. He ranks fifth in ESU’s top 10 in career sacks.
Wide receiver Mike Doty (Central Bucks South) had five receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown in West Chester’s 46-20 win over Slippery Rock in an NCAA playoff game on Saturday. Junior Andrew Cohen (Council Rock South) had a hand in nine tackles, including five solo tackles, to lead the defense. He had 5.5 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks. West Chester (11-1) 
advances to play the top seed in Super Region 1, Concord University (11-0), on Saturday.
Defensive lineman Andrew Cohen earned first team All-PSAC East honors. The Rock South grad clogged running lanes for opposing opponents, leading the team with 13.5 tackles for a loss. After receiving All-PSAC East recognition last year, Cohen upped his game and became a presence for the Golden Rams on defense. Cohen’s nine sacks ranks first on the team as well, making his presence felt as he anchored the defensive line with 51 tackles.
Wide receiver Mike Doty was named to the All-PSAC East second team. The South grad led the squad in pass receptions with 40. He has 611 yards receiving and nine TDs.
West Chester senior center Derek Schatz (Council Rock South) earned All-PSAC East first team recognition. He was part of an offensive line that helped Brandon Monk rush for over 1,000 yards and rack up over 1,700 all-purpose yards while blocking for Sean McCartney, who threw for 3,000 yards and 30 TDs. Schatz is a nominee for the Gene Upshaw Award. He makes all the calls up front for the Golden Rams offensive line and is a big reason that West Chester’s offense ranks fourth in the PSAC in total offense and fifth in rushing offense.
West Chester senior defensive lineman Mike Culbreath (North Penn) was named to the All-PSAC East second team. The North Penn grad bounced between defensive end and linebacker for the Golden Rams during his four-year career. He landed on the second team all-league squad in just his first year on the defensive line. His versatility gave West Chester an athletic pass rusher who can play all over the field. On the season, he is second on the team with four sacks and a total of 31 tackles and nine tackles for loss.
Kutztown freshman placekicker Alec Rosenfeld (Bensalem) was named to the PSAC Eastern Division Second Team. The Bensalem grad thrived in his role as a fulltime kicker this season. He is the first freshman placekicker in recorded school history to be named All-PSAC First Team, the first time in the PSAC since 2011 and the first in the East since 2006. He was 12-for-14 on the year, and his 85.7 percentage led the PSAC and was seventh in Division II. His 1.20 field goals per game were third in the PSAC and 24th in Division II. His 12 field goals rank third in single-season school history and seventh in a career. Rosenfeld kicked a season-best 46-yarder against Shippensburg on Nov. 8, his second field goal from 44 yards or more on the year. It is the fourth longest field goal kicked in the PSAC this year. In the past 17 years, only one other Golden Bear has kicked a field goal 44 yards or longer. The school record is 48 yards.
Millersville senior linebacker Reggie Slaton (Bensalem) was named All-PSAC Eastern Division Second Team. The Bensalem grad, a two-time team captain, was the Marauders' most productive player in defensive coordinator Ralph Clark's new 3-4 scheme. He ranked second in the PSAC in tackles with 104. Slaton also tallied 4.0 tackles for loss, recovered a fumble and forced a fumble. He recorded double-digit tackles in each of the first three games and in six of the first seven. Slaton's 104 stops were the most by a Marauder since 1999. He was also the first Marauder since 2003 to record 100 tackles in a season and the first 
linebacker named All-PSAC since 2008.
Bloomsburg sophomore John Garland (North Penn) was named to the All-PSAC Eastern Division Second Team. The North Penn grad, an all-conference player for the first time, took over as a starter at right tackle this fall.

Grace Miorelli (Souderton) contributed an assist in Cedarville’s 6-1 win over Oakland City in the NCCAA Women’s Soccer Midwest Regional semifinal at Wright State University on Wednesday. Cedarville saw its season end when it fell to Grace (Ind.) 2-0 in Saturday’s Midwest Regional final.
Penn State advanced to its 10th NCAA Elite Eight with its 2-1 overtime win over Virginia Tech in a third round game on Sunday. Freshman Megan Schafer (Neshaminy) played 51 minutes in the big win.
MEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
University of North Carolina junior Ozzie Moyer (Souderton) finished fifth in the 10-meter platform diving with 253.30 points at the 2014 Janis Hape Dowd Nike Invitational at Koury Natatorium. Moyer finished third in the three-meter competition. The men’s team finished second overall. Albright senior Rick Sutton (Hatboro-Horsham) was selected as the Middle Atlantic Conference Swimmer of the Week for the week ending Nov. 16. Sutton had a big day in the Lions’ dual meet win over Arcadia, winning two individual titles and swimming legs on two victorious relay teams. Sutton won the 200 freestyle (1:48.27) and 200 backstroke (2:00.38). He swam the lead leg on the Lions’ 800 free relay that broke the Albright Natatorium pool record with a time of 7:25.79, breaking the previous record of 7:26.71. He also was part of the winning 400 medley that posted a time of 3:42.66.
Sutton earned a pair of wins in Albright’s 105-100 loss to Messiah on Saturday. He secured the win in the 1000 freestyle in a time of 10:26.33 and also won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:03.38, which was just a second and a half off his personal best. Sutton also was part of the second place 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:43.64. Teammate Tim Resch (Springfield) was sixth in the 50 free (24.28) and 100 free (55.00). He also was part of the fourth place 200 free relay.
Delaware senior Tim Ware (Central Bucks South) finished second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.43 on Saturday at the Bucknell Invitational. He also was part of the seventh place 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:35.03.
Senior Ashton Leyens (Upper Dublin) was part of the winning 200 free relay that posted a time of 1:26.98 in Gettysburg’s sweep of Messiah (173-85) and Susquehanna (145-114) last Sunday.
Ben Mancini (Springfield) won the 500 free (5:17.50) and 1000 free (10:50.15) in Washington & Jefferson’s 113-78 win at Pitt-Bradford on Saturday.

La Salle senior TJ Guminski (Hatboro-Horsham) finished eighth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.31 and 16th in the 100 backstroke (1:03.02) at the Swarthmore Invitational on Saturday. He finished fifth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.14.
TJ Schenkel (Council Rock South) took second on the 3-meter board with a season-best 311.15, and his 312.45 score on the 1-meter board was good enough for third in No. 16 Penn State’s tri-meet with Virginia and Michigan. The Nittany Lions defeated Virginia 212-136 but fell to Michigan 212.50-140.50. Bob Bantley (Upper Dublin) finished third in the 100 free (45.38).

WOMEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
Shippensburg junior Carolyn Meier (Upper Dublin) notched a fourth place finish in the 100 free with a time of 52.73 at the 2014 Patriot Invitational at George Mason University on Saturday. Meier was part of the 800 free relay that placed seventh with a time of 7:47.41, and she finished seventh in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.64 that was an NCAA ‘B’ cut. Meier finished eighth in the 50 free (24.34). Senior Devon Perugini (Neshaminy) posted a PSAC cut time of 25.39.
Towson junior Natalee Szopo (Upper Moreland) placed second in the one-meter diving event on Friday with a score of 271.10 at a three-day invitational at Bucknell.
Taylor Mateja (Upper Merion) was part of Franklin & Marshall’s 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:54.49 and earned points at the F&M Invitational on Saturday. She also advanced to the consolation final in the 200 backstroke after posting a time of 2:14.27. She was part of the 200 free relay that finished fifth with a time of 1:40.19.
Senior Chelsea Kozior (Council Rock South) finished first in the 1000 free with a time of 11:01.47 in nationally-ranked Ursinus College’s 155.5-106.5 win over Gettysburg on Saturday. Sophomore Marisa Ferrari (Central Bucks East) finished fifth in the 200 free with a time of 2:05.54.
Abby Miller (Neshaminy) was part of Lock Haven’s 13th place 200 free relay that posted a time of 1:42.53 at the Pitt Invitational on Friday.

La Salle sophomore Jess Wimmer (Souderton) finished sixth in the 200 butterfly (2:35.03), ninth in the 200 free (2:09.40) and 14th in the 100 butterfly at the Swarthmore Invitational Saturday.
East Stroudsburg freshman Shirley Samson (Council Rock North) finished eighth in the 100 breaststroke (1:14.89) and 10th in the 200 IM (2:26.52) at the Diamond City Invitational hosted by King’s College on Saturday and Sunday.
Kutztown's Bridget Perdoch (Pennsbury) finished 14th in the 100 breaststroke 'B' final with a time of 1:11.47 at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational on Sunday.Teammate Aimee Watkins (Hatboro-Horsham) touched the wall in the 500 free in a season-best 5:44.85 for 32nd place. On Saturday, Perdoch secured her first PSAC-qualifying time in the 200 breast with a season-best time in the prelminaries of 2:33.08. She finished eighth in the finals with a time of 2:34.79. On Friday night, Watkins finished 22nd in the 1650 free with a time of 19:40.32, and Perdoch was part of the 400 medley relay that finished fifth with a time of 4:02.81, 10th all-time at Kutztown.
Alex Wheatley (Upper Dublin) was part of the winning 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:48.85 in Bloomsburg's 146-115 win over Clarion Saturday.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Senior Devon Maugle (Plymouth Whitemarsh) tallied a team-high 12 kills and hit .226 in UConn’s 3-0 loss to Tulsa on Sunday. She needs just three digs to become the seventh ever Huskie player to record at least 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs. The tri-captain picked up her 1,000th kill last week. In UConn’s 3-1 loss to SMU, Maugle recorded a team-high 11 kills.
WRESTLING
Bucknell senior Joe Stolfi (Souderton) finished third at 285 at the Navy Classic on Saturday. The Souderton grad, ranked 18th in the nation, opened the tournament with a first period fall in the second round and won 6-2 in the first tiebreaker to advance to the semifinals and a rematch with No. 17 Riley Shaw, a two-time national qualifier from Cleveland State. Shaw recorded a 12-4 major decision, but Stolfi bounced back with two wins in the consolation bracket to take third. Stolfi, who also took third at last year’s Navy Classic, improved to 10-2 on the season and is 72-31 for his career. Both losses this season have come to Shaw.
