Notes:
0-1 Wissahickon Loss To Plymouth Whitemarsh
It was a difficult day on the pitch for Wissahickon who outshot their opponent 21 to 3 on Thursday afternoon. After a scoreless 80 minutes, WHS entered into overtime against PW. In the 80th minute PW forward, Jewel Terraces, was sent in on a breakaway as Kirsten Haney chased her down the field. Hastings came out to challenge Terraces, but she was able to place the ball into the lower left corner of the net.
WHS four defenders, Kirsten Haney, Mary Matthews, Jasmine Bishop, and Anna Wilde, continued their excellent play against PW and allowed only three shots the entire game. Maddie Elwell, 6 shots on target, continued to be a threat as she was able to dribble down the left flank and deliver cross after cross. Wissahickon’s forwards, Krsyta Memis and Mady Foglia also had a great game combining for six shots on target. The Wissahickon midfield kept the pressure high against the PW players as they were able to force turnovers and control the flow of the game. With the second loss in the conference, the team will have to come out strong in their six remaining games.
Plan to attend: WHS hosts UD on October 19th at 7:00PM on their senior night.
