STERLING LIMOUSINE AND TRANSPORATION
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
(With performances that may go down in the record books for their respective programs, three SOL players
received recognition as Sterling Limo Players of the Week for week nine.)

Sterling Limo SOL Player of the Week
Brandon McIlwain, Council Rock North – McIlwain played perhaps his most impressive game of the season in perhaps the most important game of the year as the Indians (5-1) rallied in the second half to defeat previously unbeaten Quakertown (5-1) by a 41-31 score in a critical SOL Continental Conference game.  McIlwain carried the ball 25 times for 212 yards and scored five rushing touchdowns – and – completed 17 passes for another 219 yards and a touchdown.  The remarkable numbers totaled 431 total yards and six touchdowns.  McIlwain – as a free safety - also helped the Rock North defense come up with a couple of key fourth quarter stops against the talented Panthers.
Head Coach Adam Collachi says: “Brandon: turned in an incredible effort this past Friday night in a critical game.  Again Brandon will recognize the team effort, but his will to win inspired a total team effort.  This was the first time in five weeks that we had the full offensive playbook available.  He was able to be a true dual threat this week against a great Quakertown team.”

Sterling Limo SOL Player of the Week
Kyle Hickey, Council Rock South – Hickey excelled in all three phases of the game as the Golden Hawks (5-1) held off Norristown (2-4), 49-45 to earn a first place standing along with CR North and Quakertown in the SOL Continental Conference.  Hickey – who recovered an onsides kick early in the game – was a special teams hero late in the game with a 90-yard kickoff return in the final moments to give the Hawks the come-from-behind win.  Hickey also rushed for a game-high 239 yards on 22 carries and scored three rushing touchdowns.  On defense, Hickey excelled as he had six tackles – had one pass break-up – and intercepted a pass.
Head Coach Vince Bedesem says:  “Kyle Hickey has been a tremendous asset for our football team since he has been here. Kyle not only contributes on all three phases of the game but is a difference maker of stepping up in the moment where you really need a BIG play. He along with others have been consistent on being in the right place at the right time. Kyle takes advantage of these moments because of the hard work and dedication he puts into the game and in the classroom.”

Sterling Limo SOL Player of the Week
Desmond Gorski, Norristown – Gorski had one of the most memorable games in Norristown football history in the Eagles’ 49-45 loss to Council Rock South.  Gorski fired a 15-yard scoring strike to Diamonte Willis with 50 seconds left in the game to give Norristown a 45-42 lead, but the Eagles failed to hold the lead. Gorski was superb as he completed 24-of-32 passes for an incredible 424 yards and seven touchdowns.
Head Coach Jason Powel says:  “Desmond joined the team late back in August after camp; and after installing a new system unlike last years when he was our starting QB, he was forced to learn a new offense and we felt he would benefit us backing up Diavonte Lloyd.  As the story goes, after week three when Lloyd went down with a season-ending injury, Desmond stepped right in and delivered his best game in a Norristown uniform.   Desmond has worked hard to help the team and finally got his chance against a good CR South team.”
