On Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, Central Bucks South seniors Dan McCartin and Will Moller were recognized for committing to continue their baseball careers at the collegiate level. To view photos of the recognition ceremony, please visit the Photo Gallery.

“What stands out most about both of them – we’ve been doing open workouts for two or three months since school started, and they both have great leadership skills,” coach Brian Klumpp said. “I could tell when I first got here they’re both very good gentlemen. They came up and introduced themselves and asked if I needed anything. They’ve been helping with the younger guys as well. You could just tell that they can step up to the plate and have good leadership roles.
“Dan is obviously one of the top pitchers in the program and possibly in the league from talking to previous coaches and other players as well. I know Will is a solid fielder and a solid batter with his .520 batting average. Obviously, they’ll both be integral parts of the team in the upcoming season.”

Daniel McCartin – West Chester University (Baseball)
Major:
Pre-Science/Physical Therapy
Final list of colleges:  West Chester, East Stroudsburg
Reasons for choosing West Chester:  “I like the campus, and they had a major I really enjoyed in physical therapy. They have a good team and a good opportunity to go there and win. I feel I could also play there.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level? “It was always a goal to play baseball in college. I signed up for club teams to try and get to this point. I played for the Philadelphia Baseball Academy, and last year I was getting some looks from low Division III schools, and this year it kind of amped up in early spring.”

Will Moller – Misericordia University (Baseball)
Major:
Government, Law and National Security
Final list of colleges:  Misericordia, Elizabethtown, Immaculata, Gwynedd Mercy, George Washington, DeSales
Reasons for choosing Misericordia:  “A few years ago, I played in a tournament at Misericordia, and it was the nicest baseball field I ever played on. It just got my attention. Walking around the campus, it felt like I could live there, and getting to know people who go there, they were really nice. When I researched it, I found out it was exactly what I’m looking for in my major and provides a lot of opportunities after college and in the real world. The major is kind of what sold me.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level?  “After seeing my brother Ben get recruited to play baseball in college, I wanted to follow in his footsteps to get a good education while playing a sport. I began the recruiting process the summer after my freshman year.
“I’ve always tried to play baseball at the highest level possible, and after my brother got recruited, I saw that as the next goal to strive for.”
