On Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, Upper Dublin seniors Wyatt Amdor and Michael Jensen were recognized for signing letters of intent to continue their swimming careers at the collegiate level. To view photos of the signing event, please visit the Photo Gallery.
“They are two of the most dedicated athletes I’ve ever coached, and I don’t just mean that they showed up all the time,” UD coach Geoff Scheuer said. “They were really dedicated to being the best they could be. They’re both very driven.
“Michael is probably the most driven athlete I’ve ever coached. He’s about as close to a professional swimmer as I’ll ever coach. Wyatt is probably one of the strongest kids I’ve ever coached.
“With that level of dedication and with that amount of time that they put in, this kind of thing becomes a real journey. I’ve spent a lot of time with these guys over the past few years – Michael for the past 10 years. I have just watched them really grow as people over the years, which has been kind of amazing. It’s been very rewarding and very challenging in equal measure.”

Reasons for choosing Kentucky: “The school was the perfect fit for me academically, plus the coaches and the team were just what I need to push my swimming to the next level.”
What was the progression that led you to playing your sport at the collegiate level? “I started to swim competitively in eighth grade and decided that swimming was a good fit and that I should pursue the sport to see how fast I could get. I started thinking about college when I was in eighth grade. The recruiting process began at the start of my freshman year when I started to e-mail coaches.”

What was the progression that led you to swimming at the collegiate level? I started swimming when I was seven, and I swam for Upper Dublin Aquatic Club the entire time. In eighth grade, I dropped my other sports.
“I always knew I wanted to swim in college. The recruiting didn’t start until the beginning of junior year.”
