WISSAHICKON SOFTBALL PREVIEW

Last Year’s Record: 7-12

Key losses: Britney Gelman (playing at Emory)

Key returners: C Michela Coleman Jr., 1B Jules Griffin Jr., 3B Destini Paige Sr. (playing at Hampton), LF Andrea Andrea Mazurek Sr., 2b Zoe Trumbore Jr.

Others to watch:  SS Macey Segal Fr., CF Siani Paige-Miller.

Strengths:  Our defense has been very good in scrimmages

Questions:Can we hit good pitching? We had a problem with good pitchers. Hopefully being a year older helps.

Outlook:  “Last year we started six sophomores, two juniors and one senior and had a pretty good year. I told the girls our goal is to flip the record to 12 wins. Destini and Andrea have looked very good in practice. Our junior pitcher Halle Segal improved tremendously during the course of last year. We expect the juniors to start maturing into very good Varsity players. Coleman, Griffin and Trumbore have all played significant Varsity innings. SS Macey and CF “Junior” (Siani… is Destini’s younger sister) are going to be special players.”
