Strengths/Question Marks: Question marks are replacing six key starters from last year’s team. East’s strength is its depth throughout the team at every position. This is not a rebuilding year by any means for East, rather it is a reloading year. Several players have been patiently waiting to be given the opportunity to not just play, but to make an impact.
Outlook: “Last year’s team raised the bar by competing in the PIAA State Quarterfinals. East’s goal this year is to win the SOL Continental Conference and to advance further into the State Championship Tournament than last year’s team. They certainly have the weapons to do it by returning two of their top three scorers from last year in Griffin and Brown. As a perennial power, they realize that there is a target on their backs each and every game as each opponent want to knock them off. Head Coach Bruce Garcia and his staff will have the team focused and prepared to play one game at a time. Look for another successful season from the Patriots.”
