American Conference Championships (4-23-16)

Wissahickon swept the top two spots in the 2016 SOL American Conference Boys’ Singles Tennis Championships. Freshman Andrew Tran defeated senior Ben Wolfe, the two-time defending champion, in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 6-0). Both advanced to the PIAA District One Championships April 29-30 at the Healthplex in Delaware County.

Tran advanced to the championship match with a straight set win over Cheltenham’s Josh Victor in a semifinal match (6-1, 6-0), and Wolfe defeated Upper Dublin’s Bryan Szayna 3-6, 6-1, 6-1. Szayna earned a 6-0, 6-2 win over Victor in the consolation match.
