Jake Woodruff – Baldwin Wallace University (Soccer)

Major:  Athletic Training

Final list of colleges:  Baldwin Wallace, Springfield, Marywood

Reasons for choosing Baldwin Wallace:  “They have a really good athletic training program, and the coaches and the team were really welcoming. It just felt right.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level?  “My freshman or sophomore year I realized it was reachable, so I just made that my goal, and I kept working for it.”

Coach Derek Priest says:  “Obviously, he has the natural ability, but the mental part of his game – he always stood out as willing to go the extra mile to make sure he was successful both individually and making the team successful. As a young man, he’s everything you could want – he’s polite, he’s well-mannered, he’s thoughtful of other people, so to see him achieve this is very rewarding as a coach. I’ve coached him at both school and club soccer, and it’s very rewarding.”
