Game Summary:
Charise Halteman – Head Coach
“PW came out ready to play against Conestoga today. In the opening play of the game, Sam Spera was able to jab the ball away from a Conestoga defender and take a 1 v. 1 with the goalkeeper. Spera would score at the 32 second mark to give the Colonials a 1-0 lead. Conestoga was able to score 5 unanswered goals to win the game. PW played a strong first half keeping the game close at 2-1.
Our defense played great today. They sustained heavy pressure from talented Conestoga attackers and made some great corner defense plays. Seniors Frankie O’Brien, Sami Mangine, Kolby Bechtel, and sophomore, Jen Byrne, all played outstanding. Goalkeeper Katherine Houghton recorded a season high 7 saves. Midfielder Sophie Kolkka also made her presence known on the field today with key plays on both sides of the ball. Although the result was disappointing, the team showed a lot of heart today.”
