Heather Hartmann – Marist College (Swimming)
Major: Athletic Training
Final list of colleges: Marist, Bloomsburg, Richmond
Reasons for choosing Marist: “I chose it because I really liked the team and the atmosphere.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in swimming at the collegiate level? “I decided I wanted to swim in college in my sophomore year of high school. High school sports is like being part of a team and a family. I just want to do that in college.”
Coach Jeff Faikish says: “As Heather’s coach for almost 11 years, I have an honor that most coaches in high school don’t get. I’ve been coaching Heather since she first started swimming at the Lansdale swim team on White’s Road. I’ve had the pleasure of watching her grow and mature and become a leader of the North Penn High School swim team, not necessarily through her vocals but through her actions and her commitment to the team.
“I knew Marist was an obvious choice for her when she came home and had an absolute gigantic smile on her face and was so thrilled with what they had to offer her. We wish her the best of luck.”
