Maggie Daeche – Drexel University (Soccer)
Major: Health Sciences
Final list of colleges: Drexel, James Madison University, Ivy League schools
Reasons for choosing Drexel: “It came down to the distance – Drexel is close to home – and the team camaraderie that they had. I liked how easily accessible it is to home. I loved the team. When I first met all of them, you couldn’t tell who was a senior or who was a freshman, and that was very welcoming.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level? “As a little girl, it was a dream to play on the Olympic Team – it’s every little soccer player’s dream. I’ve always wanted to play in my future, and I knew that college soccer was the path I wanted to take.”
Coach Chelsea Lovelace says: “Maggie is a rock. She’s a consistent player. We never had to worry having her in the back line. We wanted to move her to the midfield, and we have done that, but just to have her in the back – we were confident, we never worried. She means a lot to the whole team. She was a huge part in all of our success.
“We’re going to miss her a lot for the leadership qualities she has. She leads through actions and verbally. She just always sets the standard high for the girls. It’s going to be some big shoes to fill, but going to Drexel, I can’t wait to watch her grow as a young woman and soccer player. I know she’ll do great things there. To see her mature and take her leadership qualities to the next level to her college team even as a young player – she was a captain for us as a sophomore, and I know she’ll start out right away just helping that team out.”

Alyssa Tobin – West Chester University (Soccer)
Major: Undecided
Reasons for choosing West Chester: “When I went there to visit, I just loved the whole campus. On the overnight, the girls were just awesome.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level? “I just always knew I wanted to play, and my sophomore year I started to hear from coaches.”
Coach Chelsea Lovelace says: “Alyssa had some back problems this year, but she’s going to be a great asset to their team too. She’s a creative player up top, and she’s very smart with the ball and taking people on. I think she will do great stuff at West Chester. They always have a successful program, and I think she will fit right in. They’re well coached, and I know she’ll do some great things.”

Favorite movie: The Breakfast Club

Emily Tomlinson – Millersville University (Soccer)
Major: Biology
Final list of colleges: Millersville, Goucher College, Dickinson
Reasons for choosing Millersville: “I chose Millersville because it’s a new coach, and I liked the direction he was taking the program, and it’s a very affordable school.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level? “I decided I wanted to play soccer late. I decided right before my junior year started, and my mom was like, ‘Why don’t you do a camp? All the other girls on your team are doing it.’ I was like, ‘Why not?’ I really liked the experience, and that’s when I decided to start looking.”
Coach Chelsea Lovelace says: “Emily runs track too, so she’s a very quick player. She’ll probably play in the midfield there on the outside, so she’ll use her speed and explosiveness. She’ll be a consistent player for them like she was for us.”
About Emily:
Favorite food: Anything Chocolate
Favorite movie: Comedies
Favorite music: Alternative
