Keri Mallon – Neumann University (Lacrosse/Soccer)

Major:  Education

Final list of colleges:  Neumann, Millersville, East Stroudsburg

Reasons for choosing Neumann:  “I really liked the school, and I liked their education program. I also really liked how close the team was and the atmosphere of the school.”

What was the progression that led you to playing your sport at the collegiate level?  “I started playing lacrosse in eighth grade for SAGLA and then I tried out for the high school team my freshman year. They had cuts that year and I made the team. I was on jayvee for a couple of years, but my skills greatly increased each year. I joined a club team called PA Pride, and that is when colleges started looking at me. That is when I realized that I wanted to play in college.
“I have been playing soccer since I was four. I played travel for a couple of years, and I have been on the select team for most of my soccer career. I wasn’t planning on playing soccer in college, but I play goalie, and the Neumann soccer team needed a goal, and I am glad that they did so I can keep up my soccer career because I wasn’t ready to give it up.”

Lacrosse coach Nancy Offner says:  “Keri is an athlete who plays with a lot of passion.  She is a true teammate who brings a supportive, positive attitude to every practice and game. Her teammates and coaches can always count on her to give 100 percent and consistently work hard to better herself and her team. Keri's speed, dedication and sportsmanship will be an asset to both Neumann's soccer and lacrosse teams.”
