STERLING LIMOUSINE AND TRANSPORTATION
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Sterling Limo Offensive Players of the Game:
First star: KJ Cartwright, North Penn – The senior running back has come on strong as the season has progressed. In the Knights’ 41-26 win over Haverford in an opening round District One 6A game, Cartwright had 269 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries, setting the tone with early TD runs.
Coach Dick Beck says:  “On Friday night, Haverford got up 7-0, and he broke a 70-yarder. Then they got up 14-7, and he broke a 70-yarder again. I guess you could say it was a pretty big performance.
“He’s been a fantastic surprise. At one point, he wasn’t even going to play football, and sometime in the middle of July, he called me and said he wanted to come out and come to weight lifting. He started coming, and it was a slow gradual rise to him as a starter, but after the Pennsbury game, we decided we were going to go with him as a starter.
“Obviously, he’s a speed guy, so early on, everything with him was – get to the corner, bounce everything. When he got a good feel for what our blocking zone rules were, I think he developed a vision on when he’d see the crease to get north and south, and he’s just done a great job with that.”

Second star:  Joel Stills, Neshaminy – The senior running back had 28 carries for 235 yards and three touchdowns in Neshaminy’s 42-21 win over Spring-Ford in the opening round of the District One 6A playoffs.

Second star:  Nick Tarburton, Pennridge – The senior fullback had 13 carries for 125 yards and one touchdown while also blocking extremely well for his teammates in Pennridge’s 24-0 win over Quakertown in an opening round game of the District One 6A Tournament. He also was a difference maker on defense.

Sterling Limo Defensive Players of the Game:
First star: Oliver Jervis, Pennridge –
The senior defensive lineman had 12 tackles in addition to a tackle for a loss, a blocked punt and an interception in Pennridge’s 24-0 win over Quakertown in the opening round of the District One 6A Tournament.

First star: Cory Joyce – The junior defensive back had seven tackles and a pair of interceptions in Neshaminy’s 41-21 win over Spring-Ford in an opening round game of the District One 6A Tournament.
Coach Steve Wilmot says:  “Cory’s a very good football player, and he’s also a very good baseball player. He’s a very good athlete in general. He really had a good nose for the football last Friday night. He had two interceptions, and both of those interceptions were a combination of his football smarts – he watches a lot of film and understands what’s going on out there – and just his athleticism as far as anticipating on the field what’s going to happen. He just snuck right in front of two of those interceptions.”

Sterling Limo Special Teams Players of the Game:
First star: Connor Moss –
The Redskins’ junior had a pair of solo tackles and forced a fumble that led to a touchdown as a member of the kickoff team in Neshaminy’s 41-21 win over Spring-Ford in an opening round District One 6A Tournament game.
Coach Steve Wilmot says: “When Connor was on the ninth grade team here at Neshaminy, he had a catastrophic leg break, so his ninth grade football team was over after it happened. He was cleared to play midway through his 10th grade year. He’s a tough football kid – his dad played here at Neshaminy High School. Connor is a little behind the eight ball as far as his training goes, but he’s just a really tough football player, and he does a really nice job on our kickoff team. He’s really the leader of our kickoff team. Coach (David) Ferrara does our kickoffs, and he calls Connor his assistant coach because he’s so alert out there. He also does a really nice job for me on kickoff return. He always seems to be the guy who makes the last block out there to spring whoever is running the ball. He’s just a tough kid, a little bit undersized, and we’re hoping another year in the weight room will cure that.”

Chris Knop, Pennsbury – The senior kicker was a difference maker in Pennsbury’s 17-0 win over Central Bucks South in an opening round District One 6A game, flipping the field with his punts on a night when the wind was a factor. His deep kickoff to open the game pinned the Titans deep and led to a safety.

SOL Honor Roll:
Malik Bootman, Upper Dublin – The senior running back had 125 yards on 13 carries in Upper Dublin’s 27-21 win over Radnor in an opening round game of the District One 5A playoffs. He also had a hand in 11 tackles.
Zach Demarchis, Pennsbury – The senior quarterback was the leading ground gainer with 167 yards and a touchdown. He also threw for a touchdown in Pennsbury’s 17-0 win over Central Bucks South in an opening round District One 6A game.
Julian Gimbel, Upper Dublin – The senior quarterback completed 8-of-14 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown in Upper Dublin’s 27-21 win over Radnor in an opening round District One 5A game.
Caleb Mead, Upper Moreland – The junior running back had 129 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in Upper Moreland’s 42-13 win over Oxford in an opening round game of the District One 5A playoffs.
Pennsbury Defense – The Falcons’ defense limited the Titans to less than 100 yards of total offense in Pennsbury’s 17-0 win over Central Bucks South in an opening round District One 6A game.
Kyle Schetter, Pennridge – The senior running back had 103 yards and two touchdowns in Pennridge’s 24-0 win over Quakertown in an opening round District One 6A game.
Max Winebrake, Upper Dublin – The senior linebacker was part of 13 tackles in Upper Dublin’s 27-21 win over Radnor in an opening round District One 5A contest.
