The Jamie Huber era at Pennsbury began with a convincing 6-3 win over the visiting Wissahickon Trojans. Head Coach Huber, stepping up from the defensive coordinator role last year, featured a stifling defense and an opportunistic offense to forge the opening day victory.

The game began with Pennsbury controlling the ball, but the Trojan defense held firm, with the outstanding play of Wissahickon goalie Sean Smith, until sophomore Evan Caterson broke the scoring ice for the Falcons with a dodge from up top and an unassisted goal halfway through the first quarter. Wissahickson matched that two minutes into the second stanza when senior attackman Garrett Rosiek scored on a man-up opportunity following a Pennsbury penalty.

The Falcons then took charge with three unanswered goals. Sophomore attackman Calvin Hopkins rode a Trojan clear attempt near the crease, dislodging the ball from the long-pole, which flew past the goalie and into the net for an unusual goal. Senior attackman Kenneth Warren then scored two consecutive goals, beating a Trojan long-pole for a point blank finish past the goalie, and a sharp-angle sniper shot one minute later.

Two minutes into the third period, Senior midfielder/FO Shawn Caven took a Ricky Jutkiewicz feed and scored. At the halfway point of the third quarter, Caven fed Calvin Hopkins to bring Pennsbury's lead to 6-1. Caven dominated at the 'x', winning 11 of 13.face-offs. Falcon Sophomore goalie, Drew Sweetland, was outstanding in the net, saving 8 of 11 on-goal shots he faced and not letting in an even-strength goal. Wissahickon kept battling back though, with Senior middie Steve Carrozza scoring on another man-up opportunity with two minutes to go in the third period.

The fourth quarter saw some sloppy back-and-forth play in the midfield, and Pennsbury went to their bench. The Trojans put the game's final point on the board with yet another man-up goal at the ten minute mark of the fourth when Senior middie Jeff Gebert converted.

The win puts PHS at 1 - 0 for the year and 0-0 in the Suburban One National conference, while the Wissahickon Trojans are 0-1 on the year and 0-1 in the Suburban One American conference
