Pennsbury High School Boys Lacrosse
Fairless Hills, PA
April 3, 2010
The winner of today's boys lacrosse game between Pennsbury and Neshaminy was neither team, rather the winner was the Headstrong Foundation, and all the people who benefit from their work in battling blood cancer. The Falcon / Redskin contest was the first game in a slate of high school games for the Headstrong “Rivalry Days” (http://www.headstrongfoundation.org/2010/01/rivalry-games) charity tournament, pitting traditional rivals from local leagues against each other. The PHS/NHS game represented the Suburban One league. Every teams' players wore the signature lime green shoelaces to honor the memory of Headstrong founder, Nick Colleluori.
Neshaminy vs Pennsbury games are always interesting because many of the kids played together in the Lower Bucks Lacrosse youth league, and the winner literally gets bragging rights with their friends. This year's contest was never in doubt as Pennsbury dominated from start to finish to a 17-2 final score.
The Falcons got goals from 10 different players and 13 of the 17 goals were assisted. Pennsbury was led by Kenneth Warren (1g, 4a), Calvin Hopkins (4g), Shawn Caven (1g, 2a), Dan Caggia (2g, 1a), Ricky Jutkiewicz (2g), Josh Caven (2g),and Tim Considine (1g, 1a). Defensemen Dan Marr and Sean Rinko each got an assist. Neshaminy was led by Ryan Hutchinson (2g) and Jimmy Roessner (1a).
The win puts PHS at 4 - 0 for the year and 1-0 in the Suburban One National conference, while the Neshaminy Redskins are 1-1 on the year and 0-1 in the Suburban One National conference.
