Reasons for choosing La Salle: “I decided on La Salle because I do like the idea of being close to home so my parents can come watch me play. I loved the coaches and the atmosphere, and it was the perfect school for my major academically.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in softball at the collegiate level? “I went to a college camp when I was 12 years old, and I was like, ‘This is what I want to do. I’m going to work as hard as I can.’ I remember after my first camp I left and I was like, ‘I want to play softball every single day until I get recruited.’ I didn’t follow through, but I knew since I was 12 I wanted to play softball in college.”
Softball coach Karl Knapp says: “I’m really proud of her. She’s one of our outstanding players. She’s a 
four-year varsity player, and even though she’s playing basketball, she’s still making voluntary practices and showing great leadership. I’ve said it before - I think she’s one of the best outfielders in this league, if not the best one.
“She played center field, and she’s got great range, she’s fast, she can cover a lot of ground, which obviously is very important. She’s very good at judging a ball and getting the jump and moving quickly. Plus arm strength – she’s got a great arm. She can throw from center field to home plate. She’s just an all-around good player. She has all the attributes you need for a centerfielder – speed, arm strength. She’s also one of our best hitters. Last year she won the batting championship for the team, and she’s always been at the top in hitting for the three years I’ve been coaching. I can’t say enough about her. She’s got a great personality. Not just as a player, she’s just a great kid – very respectful, dedicated, hardworking. She comes to practice to accomplish something, to get things done. She shows leadership, takes charge. You can’t ask for more. I’m just grateful to have her on the team.”
Basketball coach Liz Potash says: “I am certainly thrilled that both Sophia (Mancuso) and Audrey are playing, and with those two, I don’t think it was ever an option not to play – that was something neither of them ever talked to me about. I don’t know where we’d be without the two of them. (Audrey) has always been a steady player for us, but this season her role has increased tremendously. She’s a huge presence for us on the defensive end.
“We only have four seniors this year, and the girls know we’ve only done two captains every year in my first four years, but this year we went with all four of them because we said it was almost impossible to pick only two of them. They all bring such different aspects of good leadership. Bailey (McManus) is a four-year starter, Gina (Russo) is very vocal, Sophia does a lot of things on the floor, and (Audrey) is such a positive leader. They’re outstanding, and they’re great together.”
