1 – With a 49-44 win over Downingtown East Tuesday night, West Chester Henderson captured its first ever Ches-Mont National League title.
16 – Wissahickon’s Brianna Tilghman went 16-for-16 at the foul line as the Trojans defeated Hatboro-Horsham, 48-37.
100 – Ashley Kremp became the fifth player in Jenkintown history to make 100 career three-pointers. She joins her sister, Jennifer, who achieved the same feat earlier in the year.
What to Watch For
The regular season is winding down, with the District 1 playoffs starting the third week of February. Before then, however, regular season champions still need to be decided, with several leagues also conducting league playoffs as well.
Monday will be a rematch of last year’s District 1 Class 6A championship, when Abington heads to Plymouth Whitemarsh. Both teams are currently in the top 10 of the power rankings.
Currently, the Ghosts sit at 8-2 in the Suburban One National Conference with Council Rock North, while Neshaminy leads them both at 8-1.
It’s a three-team race in the Suburban One Continental, with Souderton at 7-1, Central Bucks South, 8-2, and Central Bucks West, 7-3.
A season-sweep of Upper Dublin – in two thrillers, no less – made things easier for Plymouth Whitemarsh, as the Colonials look to capture another Suburban One American title.
In the Pioneer Athletic Conference, Upper Merion and Pope John Paul II both have one loss in the Frontier Divison, while Perkiomen Valley and Spring-Ford split the season series to earn identical 8-1 records in the Liberty Division.
West Chester Henderson is the regular season champion in the Ches-Mont National Division, while West Chester Rustin is two games up on Oxford in the American Division.
In other conferences, Garnet Valley remains undefeated in Central League play, while Neumann-Goretti is still unbeaten in the Catholic League, and Jenkintown has been rolling through Bicentennial contests.
