Abington junior Sam Henninger won his first-ever District One Class 3A boys diving title on Friday night at North Penn.
Henninger's score of 606.10 points broke the North Penn pool record of 586.00 by Bryce Hoch of North Penn on Feb. 15, 2017 and the District One record of 602.45 set on Feb. 24, 2012 by Ian Forlini of William Tennent.
Henninger went wire-to-wire for the victory.
"It's exciting," Henninger said. "I was confident in myself. I just came in and was calm and just did what I did."
He was the runner-up to Hoch last year.
"Last year being so close was so exciting," he said. "But it did really make me want to win it this year."
