CB South's Ehresman & Peev Commit to Play Soccer at St. Joe's

On Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, Central Bucks South seniors Mackenzie Ehresman and Aleksa Peev were recognized for committing to continue their soccer careers at Saint Joseph’s University.

Mackenzie Ehresman – Saint Joseph’s University (Soccer)
Major:
Biology or something in the medical field
Final list of colleges:  St Joe’s, Pitt, La Salle, Drexel, Siena
Reasons for choosing St. Joe’s:  “I really liked the campus and I liked the people that were involved in it. I just thought it was a great fit for me because I didn’t really want to go too far from home, so I thought it was a good balance – not too far but not too close.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level?  “We play in a lot of showcase tournaments, but I also, on my own, went to a lot of showcases just to get a feel for certain things. After I went to a couple, I knew it was something I wanted to do. I contacted a couple of coaches and a couple of coaches contacted me, and I also visited a bunch of schools.”
Coach Betsy Bullock says:  “Mac was an extraordinary player and individual. She was a team captain, and she came back from adversity and really set the tone for perseverance and our team accomplishments. She was just an all-around coachable girl and a leader off the field. On the field, she’s like a rock and would run through a brick wall for her team. That’s something you can’t really coach or teach. It’s inherent.”

Aleksa Peev – Saint Joseph’s University (Soccer)
Major:
Something in the Math field
Final list of colleges:  St. Joe’s, Syracuse, La Salle, Rhode Island
Reasons for choosing St. Joe’s:  “They have a great soccer program, and I loved the coaches. The campus is really nice, and I just felt it was the best fit for me. My dad actually played soccer there too, so I’ve been visiting there ever since I was little, and I just couldn’t imagine choosing anywhere else.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level?  “I’ve been playing soccer basically my whole life, and my dad coached me when I was younger. Once I got a little older, I knew that’s what I wanted to do, so I moved to FC Bucks ECNL so that I could play in college. I had the passion for it.”
Coach Betsy Bullock says:  “Aleksa Peev was also one of our team captains. She was one of the most technically sound players I’ve coached the whole time at South. She was really a force on the field. She was our leading scorer this year, and she led by example. Offensively, she was always a threat. Both Aleksa and Mac are wonderful kids.”
