Wissahickon Comments
The Wissahickon Trojans started off their 2018 campaign with a 7-1 win over Abington on Tuesday. The Trojans backed up a strong first outing from Quinn Rovner (‘19) with a 7 run outburst in the top half of the 5th. Rovner was impressive during his 4 innings of work, overpowering the Ghosts with 9 K’s and no walks. Junior Steve Loden picked up right where he left off last year with a huge game at the plate, powering 2 triples and a double while driving in 2 runs. The Trojan bats showed that they still have some life after losing the heart of their line-up to last year’s graduating class. Junior Joel Bjordammen tossed 1 inning of shutout relief, and sophomore Mike Gorman shut the door with two solid frames while only allowing 1. First-year Head Coach Andy Noga also picked up his first career win with the Trojans.
