CB East, Pennsbury, CR South & Upper Dublin were winners in SOL boys’ lacrosse action.

The Patriots of Central Bucks East defeated West Chester Rustin by a score of 9-0 on Saturday afternoon. Due to a very patient and deliberate approach on offense, a suffocating defense, and a swarming team approach to ground balls, the Patriots were able to secure their second shutout of this young season.
Michael Ott opened the scoring five minutes into the game and also beat the clock with one second remaining in the first quarter to give the Patriots a 2-0 lead. Junior Ryan Stout scored the third goal of the game early in the second quarter and the Patriots never looked back. They would score three more times in the quarter to take a commanding 6-0 lead at the half, on their way to the shutout. Ott led all scorers with four goals, Stout had two goals and one assist, Greg Scholz and Jacob Manion each had one goal and one assist, Collin Stein had one assist, and Jake Ventresca joined them in the scoring column with one goal.
Liam Rosenthal and RJ Miller combined to make three saves on the day.
East won 7-of-11 face-offs, including 6-of-9 by Ott.
Fourteen different Patriots recorded ground balls on the day, including four by Ott and four by freshman Evan Bulotta. Contributing two ground balls each were Stein, Jake Kueny, Ryan Gray, Joey Beahan and John Galow. Stout, Jacob Manion, Drew Bethke, Jake Ventresca, Kevin Beahan, Connor Martin and Ryan Carroll had one ground ball each.
Stout also had two caused turnovers while Ryan Bullotta, Stein, Ventresca, Bethke, Galow and Nick Lyons had one each.
The Patriots (4-0) will travel to Owen J Roberts on Tuesday, April 10, for their first away game of the season.

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 9, METHACTON 4
The Indians led 5-3 at halftime and then allowed just one goal in the second half on the way to their fourth win.
Beckett Thompson led the attack with four goals and an assist while Peter Lehman added two goals and two assists. Adding a goal and an assist was Ian Waitkus. Freddy Germana had one goal, and Luke Waltrum chipped in a pair of assists.
Dan Guest and Germana each scooped up five ground balls to lead the Indians. Contributing three each were Waitkus and Waltrum. Brendan McLaughlin had a pair of ground balls, and contributing one each were Andrew Tate, Nolan Jackson, Lehman and Thompson.
“My offense controlled time of possession – Beckett Thompson and attack Ian Watkus, Luke Walstrum and Peter Lehman,” said coach John Fitzpatrick. “Methacton’s defense went in and out of zone and man defense all day, and the players showed patience and figured it out.”
Council Rock North (4-2, 0-1 SOL) will host Abington on Monday.

PENNSBURY 11, HOLY GHOST PREP 8
The Falcons earned an impressive non-league win over Holy Ghost Prep, and although the win was reason to celebrate, coach Drew Artin took time to note the loss the program had suffered this week with the passing of one of its own.
“With two great team wins this week, the Pennsbury Lacrosse community mourns the loss of our beloved Doug ‘Grandpa’ Greenfield,” the Falcons’ coach said. “Doug epitomized a passion for the sport and Pennsbury.
“He always went out of his way to help our boys. He is dearly missed by all of the players, coaches and families whose lives he has touched.”
Greenfield, who passed away on Wednesday, served as a coach, mentor and friend to all who came through the Pennsbury lacrosse program over the past 17 years. The Pennsbury lacrosse community offers its condolences to the Greenfield family on their loss.
In Saturday’s contest, Ben Abraham had a big game, scoring a team-high four goals to go along with one assist and four ground balls. Nate Racagno and Nick Sutton added two goals each. Racagno also had four ground balls and Sutton had two. Luke Vando, Ryan DeZutel and Jesse Keaton each had one goal. Vando also had an assist and three ground balls, and Keaton had four ground balls. Adding an assist and two ground balls was Cole Ruoff.
Jake Krefetz had a team-high seven ground balls and won 14-of-23 face-offs. Bryce Raniello had five grounds balls while Charlie Nuschke and Justin Hernandez both had three.
Pennsbury goalie Tim Davis had 14 saves.
Pennsbury (4-0) will host Council Rock South on Monday.

Friday, April 6
UPPER DUBLIN 12, OCEAN CITY 6
Ocean City led 4-1 after one quarter. The rest of the game belonged to the Cardinals, who rallied to the knot the score 5-5 at halftime and then outscored Ocean City 7-1 in a dominant second-half effort.
Max Winebrake led the Cardinals with five goals, one assist and two ground balls. Jed Hanson and Cary Romig had two goals each, and Jerry Bardol added one goal and two assists. Romig also had a team-high six ground balls while Bardol had three. Contributing one goal and one assist were Jason Williams and Brian McCarry. Williams also had one ground ball and McCarry had two.
Luke Roselli won 14-of-21 face-offs and also had five ground balls.
Nick Sowers had five ground balls and two caused turnovers, and Anthony Cerminara scooped up four ground balls. Brody Balasa had two ground balls and one caused turnover. Malik Bootman and Jake DiMartile both had two ground balls. Sam Polin had one ground ball and one caused turnover, and Colin Asper added one ground ball.
Upper Dublin (5-0) will host Episcopal Academy in a non-league game Monday.
