CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 11, PENNRIDGE 8
It was a night to honor milestones for both squads.
Prior to the game, Pennridge recognized U.S. Naval Academy-bound Grace Loughery, who had surpassed the 200-goal mark in the Rams’ 15-7 win over Wissahickon last Friday.
“She currently has 215 goals and about half the season left,” coach Karen Schnurr said. “The team and coaching staff are very proud of Grace’s accomplishments and can’t wait to see what she does next year at the US Naval Academy.”
For the Titans, junior Anna Green reached the 100-goal plateau in Wednesday’s win.
“We are not surprised that Anna has hit this prestigious milestone so early in her junior year,” South coach Janique Craig said. “She has been one of our leaders on attack the past couple years.
“She has one of the hardest shots I’ve seen and her speed/moves to goal is just an added bonus. Anna doesn't just score goals but she plays tough defense, helps in transition and is great on the draw. We are so proud of Anna on reaching this amazing milestone and can't wait to see her continue to lead our attack with Kasey (Dietzel).”
Green led the Titans’ attack with six goals and two assists. She also had five draw controls. Kasey Dietzel added four goals, two assists and six draw controls. Deanna Bongarzone chipped in one goal, and Erin Mayeros had three assists for the Titans, who led by a 6-5 score at halftime.
“CB South played as an entire unit tonight,” Craig said. “Our defense had an incredible game and was led by goalie captain Laura Robinson with 12 saves.
“Pennridge did a great job tonight. They came back in the first half and made it a one-goal game and then really put pressure on us in the second half. It was an exciting game.”
For the Rams, Loughery had a huge all-around effort with four goals, two assists, four draw controls and four caused turnovers. Casey Hefner added four goals and an assist.
South goalie Laura Robinson had 12 saves in a winning effort. Pennridge’s Alex Machado had 16 saves.
Central Bucks South (6-2, 1-2 SOL) will travel to Downingtown East on Friday for a non-league game, and Pennridge (2-4, 0-2) will be on the road at Quakertown on Friday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 11, NORTH PENN 7
Finley Ueland and Dani Dundas both scored four goals to lead the Bucks to the conference win. Ueland assisted on two more for a six-point night while Dundas had a five-point night with one assist in a contest that saw West go into halftime with a tenuous 5-4 lead. The Bucks responded with a strong second half effort, outscoring their visitors 6-3.
“I thought North Penn played a great first half and came out with more intensity,” West coach Tara Schmucker said. “It was back and forth and they did a good job of converting on our turnovers and poor decisions.
“And kudos to their goalie (Ashley Lambert), I thought she had a solid performance especially given we had 27 shots total. Finley Ueland and Dani Dundas showed up for us, however. I'm proud of them for helping us find a rhythm.”
Maddie Maio added two goals while Liv Fitzgerald had one. Emma Haring had one assist.
“I also thought Abby Natoli did some nice things for us, totaling four ground balls,” Schmucker said. “She's an energizer bunny and consistently goes hard no matter the score.
“Casey and Maio were solid on draws too with nine and five respectively, and Lauren Ring had a great second half in cage.”
Ring was credited with seven saves in a winning effort in goal.
For the Knights, Kelly Macnamara had a hat trick while Heather Shannon had a pair of goals. Bri O’Donnell and Grace Sacchetti both had a goal and an assist
“Despite the loss, our team played hard and worked well together tonight,” coach Heather Mellow said.
North Penn goalie Ashley Lambert recorded 11 saves.
Central Bucks West (9-1, 2-0 SOL) will be on the road at Council Rock North on Monday, and North Penn (4-3, 2-1) will host Easton in a non-league game on Thursday at 4 p.m.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 17, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3
The Patriots – who raced out of the gate to a 12-1 halftime lead – received scoring from seven different players in Wednesday’s win.
Sophomore Quinn Ferry had a breakout game for East, scoring five goals, adding one assist and dominating draw controls with a dozen draw wins. Junior Brigitte Bishop also had five goals while sophomore Katie Powell and sophomore Riley Forman had two each. Contributing one goal each were senior Erin McGovern, freshman Courtney Mackenzie and senior Mackenzie Boyle. McGovern also had a pair of assists.
Freshman Fiona Henderson recorded a pair of saves in goal for the Patriots.
Wednesday’s game marked CB East’s inaugural Cradle for a Cure fundraising event to raise money and awareness for the ALS Association of Philadelphia. The event honors Ron Mauer, father of senior goalkeeper Lauren Maurer and a lacrosse pioneer in Bucks County, who was a victim of ALS.
Central Bucks East (6-2, 3-0 SOL) will host Harriton in a non-league game on Friday, and Council Rock North (0-3, 0-1) will be on the road at Pennsbury on Thursday.

PENNSBURY 10, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 6

Emelie Curtis gave the Pennsbury girls' lacrosse team the lead early in the second half of its game against Council Rock South Wednesday afternoon. Then, after a very dramatic pause in the scoring that lasted more than 20 minutes, Curtis put the game away for the Falcons.
Curtis had a three-goal, two-assist afternoon to lead Pennsbury to a 10-6 win over CR South, improving the Falcons to 4-2 and matching the team's win total for all of 2017. Pennsbury's four wins are all against teams it lost to in 2017.
Lily Nolan scored four times for Pennsbury, while Claudia Steinmetz had three goals for the Golden Hawks.
The game was even at 5-5 at halftime and 6-6 after Steinmetz and Nolan traded goals early in the second half. Curtis gave Pennsbury its first lead with 22:50 go play at 7-6, and that's where it would stay.
For five minutes. For 10 minutes. For 15 minutes. For 20 minutes. Neither team would change the score in all of that time, though it wasn't for lack of trying. In fact, Pennsbury took six shots during that run - with five saves by Sophia Kutsaya and one shot off the pipe. Council Rock South threw 12 shots at Pennsbury's Natalie Smith, who turned away all seven that were on goal.
That's when Curtis took over again, with a perfect feed to Nolan on the crease that finally broke the long scoreless stretch and made it 8-6 with 2:38 left. Curtis then scored again and set up Nell Webber for the last one of the day.
Of Pennsbury's final four goals, Curtis scored two and assisted on the other two.
The first half ended 5-5 and was back and forth, as Council Rock South scored the first three, Pennsbury answered with the next three, Council Rock South put up two more and Pennsbury then tied it as Annie Price scored twice 29 seconds apart in the final minute before the break.
Pennsbury (4-2, 1-1 SOL) will host Council Rock North on Thursday, and Council Rock South (6-2, 1-2) will travel to Cheltenham on Friday for a non-league game.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 14, UPPER DUBLIN 4
In a showdown of two of the conference’s top squads, it was the Colonials who could not be stopped.
“When my kids play together, they’re good,” coach Ellen Reilly said. “The first half was tight, and in the second half, we tried to make some adjustments on the draw and out-hustle them to the ball because they seemed to be out-hustling us in the first half.
“Defensively, my kids stepped up, and it went our way. When we had the ball, they were patient and maintained possession. When we got the draw, we could take some time off the clock and attempt to build our lead, which eventually we did. We got a couple of possessions and ran a lot of time off the clock.”
The Colonials led 7-3 at halftime and added seven more in the second half while limiting the Cardinals to just one.
“I was a little nervous in the first half because we were creating some turnovers, but we weren’t doing some of the things we’re capable of doing,” Reilly said. “We had an awful lot of shots. We had 12 shots in the first half and only scored seven.
“My kids were shooting low on the goalie, and she was saving everything. I said, ‘You have to take your time and move her.’ We were seven for seven in the second half.”
Sophie Kolkka – who plays defensive midfield - had a huge seven-point game to lead the Colonials.
“She’s competitive, and (Upper Dublin) was competitive in the first half, and I think that pushed her,” Reilly said. “They were face guarding Ali (Diamond), so somebody else had to step up.
“As a sophomore she was a goal scorer for us, but we didn’t have her last year (because of an injury). She knows we have a lot of kids that score, so she’s not one that always wants it. She’ll do stuff off the ball for her teammates.”
Diamond added a hat trick and an assist and Raquel Baskin also scored three goals. Max Lesczynski added a goal and an assist. Lexi Petrakis had a goal and two assists while Vic Betterly had two goals and one assist.
“I said to my kids today – if they would put the whole game together, they would be unstoppable,” Reilly said. “Like high school kids, some of them get flustered, some of them panic, and we have turnovers, but they have each other’s back and they fight back. I can’t ask them to do too much more. They’re really a good group of kids and they’re working hard.”
The Cardinals were without their most dangerous weapons – Lindsey Schreiber, who was sidelined because of illness.
“She gets a lot of their draws, she scores a lot of their goals,” Reilly said of Schreiber.
For the Cardinals, Mack Moore had two goals and an assist. Julia Reardon and Becky Browndorf each added one goal.
PW goalie Meghan Ely recorded six saves in the win.
“My goalie stepped up,” Reilly said. “Sarah Putsch did a good job on defense.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (5-3, 2-0 SOL) will travel to Upper Moreland on Friday, and Upper Dublin (8-2, 2-1) will host Souderton on Wednesday.

Junior Riley McGowan scored four goals – including the 100th of her career - and assisted on three others in a stellar outing to lead the Indians to the conference win.
“It’s a great thing as a coach to watch such a determined, dedicated and talented player reach this milestone,” coach Nancy Offner said. “This is just the beginning of many awesome things that Riley will contribute to the sport of lacrosse.”
The Indians, who led 9-6 at the intermission, outscored the Trojans in both halves. They received contributions from numerous players in the win. Sarah Goodwin contributed three goals, one caused turnover and four draw controls, and Carlie Doughty added two goals, one assist and five draw controls. Liz O’Hara had two goals and two caused turnovers, and Kate Connolly and Randi Hess both had one goal and one caused turnover. Anna Anello chipped in one goal while Ceci Puente had two caused turnovers, Jackie DeAviz and Sophia Lynch, one caused turnover each, and Juliana Borisow, one assist and five draw controls.
For the Trojans, Sami Intieri had a big day with four goals while Kelly Dickson had two. Contributing one goal each were Quinn Gaffey, Maddie Hippensteal and Emma Hubbs. Brooke Berry and Intieri each had one assist.
“Maddie Hippensteal was all over the midfield for us today – she also had two assists,” Trojans’ coach Jamie Kane said. “Lauren Donofrio had several caused turnovers leading our defense. Kelly Dickson made strong connections all game long to lead transition to attack.”
Souderton goal Lauren Scott was credited with 10 saves in the win. Wissahickon goalie Jaclyn Staub recorded 10 saves.
Souderton (5-3, 2-1 SOL) will host West Chester Henderson on Friday in a non-league contest, and Wissahickon (3-6, 2-1) will host Penncrest on Friday in a non-league game.

UPPER MORELAND 15, HATBORO-HORSHAM 7
Jess Flanagan reached a personal milestone, scoring the 100th goal of her career. She led the Golden Bears with four goals.
“It was another team effort,” coach Kim Frantz said. “I could not be more proud of how this team plays together as one unit.
“We are very proud of Jess Flanagan for scoring her 100th career goal tonight.”
Chloe Leiter and Bryanna Gordon both added a hat trick. Gordon also had a pair of assists. Meghan O’Donnell had a hand in five goals, scoring two and assisting on three others. Cassidy Hirsch had two goals and two assists, and Emma Meakim added a single goal. Moira Olexa chipped in an assist.
For the Hatters Gabby Liott and Kerryn MacBride had two goals each. Contributing one goal each were Leah Cresta, Megan Acker and Audrey Leibfried. Acker also had one assist.
Cheyanne Grumm recorded 12 saves in goal for the Golden Bears while Arielle Hammer had seven for the Hatters.
Upper Moreland (8-1, 2-0 SOL) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh on Friday in a key conference battle, and Hatboro-Horsham (1-7, 1-2) will host Wissahickon on Monday.
ABINGTON 15, SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP 4
The Ghosts picked up another impressive win, opening up an 8-3 halftime lead over their visitors and never looking back. The win was the fourth in five outings for the Ghosts after dropping their first three games of the season.
“It’s the little things,” coach Mary Liz Klepper said when asked what had changed. “Ground balls, draw controls, correct body position on defense. The girls are taking care of the ball and have finally gotten into a groove.”
Kaley Ehnow had a big game for the attack, leading the Ghosts with five goals and two assists. Jamira Mashore added two goals and two assists while Natalie McNamara had a three-point game with one goal and two assists. Sam Simon had a pair, and Taheera Rodgers had one goal and one assist. Abby Thomas, Shea Gormley, Lesha Karaba and Abby Johnson contributed one goal each.
Abington goalie Ellie Hughes recorded nine saves while Claudia Grossi had one save.
“Becca Gable was outstanding on defense and transition, getting six ground balls,” Klepper said. “The whole team contributed to today’s win with nine players scoring 15 goals.
“I am very proud of this group and how well they have come together to play as a team.”
Abington (4-4, 2-1 SOL) will travel to William Penn Charter for a non-league game on Thursday, and Springfield Township (4-5, 0-3) will be on the road at Lower Moreland for a non-league contest.
