SOL Boys' Volleyball Wrap (4-23-18)

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, NESHAMINY 0 (27-25, 25-15, 25-22)
Richard Andrews had a big night for the Golden Hawks in their sweep of the Redskins, finishing the match with 12 kills, one ace, one block and 10 digs. Jay Ferrara added seven kills, three blocks and eight digs.
Adding four kills each were Jake Leonard and Dylan Baptiste. Leonard also had one dig while Baptiste had three blocks. Shane Slivinski led a strong service game with five aces to go along with three kills and 10 digs. Paul Daneson had two kills and 11 digs, and TJ Rodman added one ace and eight digs.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1 (25-23, 25-27, 25-13, 25-20)
The Patriots’ attack was led by Dylan Colbert (25 kills), Andrew Bennett (17 kills, three aces) and Thomas Gallagher-Teske (three kills, two blocks). Directing East’s attack was Carter Haban with 45 assists and four kills.
For the Titans, setter Jake Monson had two aces, 18 assists and six digs. Joe Kern led the offense with 10 kills and added 14 digs.
Senior Jack Hertkorn had six blocks, one kill and one dig, and sophomore Aidan O’Brien had five blocks and two digs.
“Both middles put up a good block,” South coach Matt Ehlers said.
Libero Jon Zonshein led the defense with 15 digs.

ABINGTON 3, BENSALEM 1 (30-28, 24-26, 25-17, 25-20)
In a tightly contested match, Abington won in four.
The Ghosts were led by Danny Gonzalez with 20 kills, two blocks, 12 digs and two aces. Juan Perez had 10 kills and a block, while Josh Harkins had eight kills and three aces, Shane Collins had four blocks and one kill and Peter Dougherty had one block and two kills. On defense, Sean Dougherty had 13 digs, Jacob Brandt had nine digs and Charlie Viola had four digs and two aces. TJ Dougherty had 35 assists, two kills and one dig.
For the Owls, Greg Philip (12 kills, four blocks) and Ethan Fan (nine kills, three blocks) had big nights at the net. Basheer Ghafary (32 assists, four kills, two aces), Mark Hall (five kills, two blocks) and Jay Tilvawala (seven kills, three assists) all also played well, according to coach Tim Linehan.

PENNSBURY 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-15)
Brett Garretson led a balanced Falcon attack with nine kills (.533 hitting percentage) to go along with two aces, seven digs and two blocks. Setter Andy Delworth had 32 assists, one kill, two aces, one dig and one block. Danny Quay was efficient at the net, delivering six kills with a .714 hitting percentage to go along with one dig and three blocks. Kyle Faulcon added seven kills (.500) and one block, and Luke Bucksar had five kills (.625), one dig and two blocks. Also making contributions were Justin Sadley (four kills, three aces, two digs, one block), Matiss Mednis (two kills), Charlie Bluestein (one assist, three aces, six digs), Matt Caissie (one dig) and Ryan Collins (four digs).

PENNRIDGE 3, QUAKERTOWN 1
Cross Edwards had another big night, leading the Rams with 20 kills, 14 digs and three aces. Zach Detweiler added nine kills and three blocks, and Kevin Jones had seven kills and five aces. Setter Corey Quaste had 39 assists, and Danny Rutter led the defense with 16 digs. Chris McKinney (three kills, three blocks), Ethan Lionetti (two kills, nine digs), Mike Molettiere (two kills) and Jeremy Pruss (four kills) also made contributions.
Leading the Panthers were Logan Spieker with 13 kills and three digs and Josh Moyer with eight kills, six digs and two aces. Setter Zach Frei had 20 assists, 12 digs, three kills and four aces. Cameron Cronk (three kills, five digs), Justin Flor (three kills, six digs, four aces), Seth Wesley (three digs) and Nathan Barkholz (two digs) also contributed.

SOUDERTON 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-23)
The Indians notched a hard-earned win over the visiting Bucks.
“We knew this would be a tough match for us,” Souderton coach Dave Stastny said. “We played hard and were able to get momentum when it counted. CB West played a good match.”
Ben Campman led the Indians with 19 kills. Matt O’Neil added 10. Setter Luke Pagan had 36 assists and 13 digs.
For the Bucks, Eli Gibson (11 kills, five digs) and Cole Nagle (nine kills, nine digs) led the way at the net. Jason Miller led the defense with 18 digs, and setter Adam Klapper had 31 assists and eight digs.

CHRISTOPHER DOCK 3, NORTH PENN 0
Setter Drew Coles had 18 assists, one ace, two blocks and five digs. Leading the Knights’ defense was Deval Patel with 15 digs to go along with one ace. Isaac Lambert added five digs.
Evan Rothmann led a balanced Knights attack with seven kills and six digs. Alex Stoler had five kills and three digs, and Kevin Abraham added four kills, two blocks and two digs. Zach Jayes contributed three kills, four blocks and one dig.
