The first half saw Springfield taking over the play. Springfield came out strong and dominated the game with intensity. The first goal came as a result of a scramble with a quick touch by Ali Roy to Paige Morrison who hit the back of the net. Springfield played well while the Upper Merion keeper came up big. Julia Boles had a shutout in the first half. The second half had much of the same action but Upper Merion was able to capitalize off a cross and tie up the game. Springfield put an extreme amount of pressure on Upper Merion - hitting the post three times, missing an open goal, a header that just skimmed the top bar and Upper Merion's keeper making some great saves. The game went to overtime. The keeper came up big for Upper Merion with several key saves but the pressure was mounting. There was a quick transition and Annie Crudele made the extra effort to win a ball that appeared to be going out - hit a cross that was tipped by Tierney Carabba to an open Kierstent McLennan who plastered it into the back of the net to end the game with a victory for Springfield.
