Reasons for choosing South Carolina: “After seeing everything academically and athletically this university had to offer, I knew it was the perfect fit and everything I was looking for.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level? “I have been playing soccer since I was three years old. Soccer was always a huge part of my life, and I always looked up to my sisters who committed to soccer also. It was always a goal of mine to play D1 soccer since a young age. The college process started freshman year, but I wasn’t sure what I wanted. I played on a premier team, and we went to showcases where colleges would come watch.”
Coach Nick Heim says: “Paige stepped into our program this year, coming back to Council Rock, and she immediately made a huge difference for us. She’s the type of player that leads by example. Her work rate is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. She was all over the field for us doing whatever it took for us to pull out the results that we needed – go find us a goal late, or if we needed to lock down on defense, I could put her on the back line to make sure we were able to secure a win. Paige embodies the mentality that we have for our team and that is play for the person next to you. She is a selfless teammate and truly does not care about individual glory or stats. All she cared about was the team being successful. It’s that type of mentality that we know is going to make her successful at the next level, and she’s going to represent Council Rock South very well at South Carolina. As a staff, we’re incredibly proud of Paige, and we can’t wait to see her flourish.”
