Reasons for choosing Kutztown: “I chose Kutztown because I fell in love with the campus. The coaching and the team looked really nice, and I was just excited.”
What was progression that led you to playing softball at the collegiate level? “My sophomore year I was debating whether I wanted to or not. My junior year is when I was like – I really want to play in college.
Coach Geoff Thompson says: “Sam was a four-year varsity player. She was our captain, and she was our shortstop her junior and senior year. She’s a very good shortstop. She batted leadoff for most of the season, and then we dropped her down to two. She was always one of our better hitters. Her biggest strength was she worked hard, and she was the inspirational leader of the team. She was the one who always had a positive outlook and was encouraging everyone."
