The QCHS Cross Country team competed at the Northampton Invitational at Bicentennial Park in Bethlehem, yesterday in fall-like conditions. The VARSITY girls, led by sophomore EMILY MACERI (22:38.59), the team placed 20th (4 points out of 17th place), followed by junior ASHLYN HICKEY (24:23.18), sophomore PAIGE DAUGHERTY (25:20.28), sophomore RYLIE MURPHY (25:44.46), sophomore HOLLY SMITH (25:49.02).
In the VARSITY Boys race, the PANTHERS were led by senior LOGAN BREZNER (18:18.70), placed 19th (out of 31 schools), followed by senior NICK YEATMAN (18:55.64), junior SAM BARNDT (19:13.85), senior PAUL HAND (19:25.14), freshman CHESTER WELLIVER (19:28.41), freshman JOHN JUSZYNSKI (19:30.96), junior ZACH PINT (20:38.15).
Due to an injury, our JUNIOR VARSITY squad could not score, having only FOUR (4) runners competing (5 need to score in XC), the team was led by junior MASON SMITH (19:48.90), followed by sophomore TEDDY FRUMUSELU (21:13.89), senior NATE GRUVER (22:00.03), junior MATT ABER (24:01.07).
The CROSS COUNTRY squad's next race will be THIS Saturday (9/8) at the DeSales University Invitational, on the campus at DeSales University, Center Valley.
