Central Bucks South Comments
CB South lost 1-0 to Souderton in a closely contested match. Although South had the majority of possession and outshot their opponent 14- 7 they were unable to find the back of the net. Brooke Steigerwalt and Grace Tecce played extremely well in the middle creating many scoring opportunities.
Sara Readinger scored the lone goal for Souderton at the end of the first half from well outside the box. The two CB South goalkeepers combined for 7 saves ( Sarah Letizia 4 and Shannon Snyder 3) All the teams in the Continental league seem to be very competitive this year.

Souderton - 1
CB South - 0
Throughout the first half Souderton looked just a step off the pace of the game, as a quick CB South Midfield pressed high. Souderton's defense proved strong and well-organized once again and was able to thwart South's direct play style. The game was at a stalemate with two minutes remaining in the first half as Sara Readinger created some space for herself in the midfield and hit a 40 yard shot over South's goalkeeper to put Souderton up 1-0. For the remaining two minutes of the half Souderton looked as if the switch had been flipped and finally got control of possession and ended the half with a shot on net.
The second half was a reflection of the first. CB South continued to send the ball forward but was met with more resilient defending from Souderton. Souderton continued to frustrate South, as they made a number of strong defensive plays, including a goal line clearance. The game finally came to a close and Souderton claimed their second win of the season.
"CB South was an aggressive team today and put high pressure on us, however, our team again stepped up defensively and battled to create another shutout. Sara Readinger was a force in the middle, scoring her first goal from 40 yards out." - Head Coach Lindsy Jones
"Another hard-fought win from our team, which speaks a lot about their character. Our defensive organization was great today from the top down. Everyone was working back and helping press when we needed it." - Assistant Coach Ian Smith
