Game 5 Souderton at Pennridge

Both teams came out ready to play in a game that was destined to be a close battle. Souderton and Pennridge both shared a similar play-style and fought to possess the ball in the midfield and work it up front for the attack. Souderton had a couple long distance warning shots, but no really quality chances in the early parts of the half. In the first 15 minutes, Souderton goalkeeper Lindsey Pazdziorko was forced into making two smart saves; first on a long distance effort where she tracked back just enough to bat the ball out of the net and the second on a free kick just outside her own penalty area.
Souderton was able to work themselves into the game after the two saves, and was challenging for any and every 50/50 ball on the field. In the final 5 minutes of the half, Kristin Loh and Averie Doughty made a smart overlapping run and the ball found Doughty in space on the wing where she was able to send in a smart cross to Loh. Loh met the ball first time and put it on frame and Pennridge's goalkeeper was able to make an impressive save to parry it over her crossbar for a corner kick to end the half.
Early on in the second half, Souderton Senior Erin O'Keefe found some open space and was able to unleash a strong shot on net, which was met by Pennridge's goalkeepr once again. From that point forward Pennridge started to gain more control of the game, as their midfield combined in tight spaces forcing, Souderton to show their defensive resilience, which has defined their season thus far. Souderton seemed up to the task but were sacrificing too much possession in the process. With about 8 minutes left in the half, Pennridge was able to get off a shot just outside of Souderton's penalty area. The shot spun off the attacker's foot wide of the goal but the ball fell to another Pennridge player in the box, who was able to attack the ball and head it straight into the corner of the net leaving Pozdziorko with no chance to save it.
