Quakertown - 0
Souderton had reason to celebrate after their senior night and final game of the season. In honor of the 11 seniors graduating this year, Souderton fought to seal a 2-0 victory to cap off a successful regular season.
From the start of the match Souderton looked energized and ready to win every 50-50. In the first 25 minutes of the match Souderton was able to control most of the match possession-wise, but didn't look particularly threatening in the attack. Senior midfielder Campbell Power had a pair of chances in the first 15 minutes; one saved by Quakertown's keeper and the other just wide of the net.
In the last ten minutes of the half, Souderton had another quality chance, as senior Sara Readinger hit a wonderful cross to find sophomore Hannah Alderfer for a one time volley that just went wide of Quakertown's post. Despite all the possession Souderton had they entered the half 0-0.
Souderton came out strong again in the second half and looked determined to get the ball forward into a dangerous area. Just over ten minutes into the half Power took a free kick from 30 yards out and let loose a shot that was destined for the top corner. Quakertown's keeper got the slightest touch and the shot deflected off the underside of the ball and was half cleared to sophomore Leah Mowery who was able to slot home a nice finish to put the hosts up 1-0.
Just after the goal Souderton earned another free kick just outside the 18-yard box, which was taken by Power again with almost the same result. Unfortunately the shot went just wide of the top corner and out for a goal kick.
Souderton continued to press and earned a corner with 5 minutes left. The ball was sent in and after a short scramble in the box senior Kailee Harwick was able to clean up and drive home the finish that put the game out of reach.
Souderton finished 2-0 and will prepare to continue their season in the playoffs next week.
