Souderton played a near perfect game as they defeated non league opponent Abington 8-0. Liz Parkins was nearly flawless, going the distance, striking out 14, and giving up only 1 hit on a flukey bunt off the left handed bat of leadoff hitter Kelly Lyons. The Indians were led at the plate by Sophomore Mollie Burrell who was 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs, Freshman Sarah Derstine who followed up yesterday's near perfect performance going 2 for 4, and belting a homerun over the left field fence for the first of her career. Seniors Olivia Shoemaker and Elysha Sowers also got in on the action, belting homeruns over the Left Field fence as well. Shoemaker's was the furthest hit ball Souderton has seen go over the fence all year, nearly landing in dirt of the adjacent JV field.



Souderton will be back in action in huge conference game on Tuesday at North Penn. The last meeting between these two teams was action packed, so Tuesday promises to be big for both their seasons.
